The empty Jerry can's stay weighted down great even when empty. I drive around with two empties in two brackets on both sides of my bed all the time and they never move or rattle. As far as locking goes your could simply drill a hole and add a metal braided cord and lock it through the handle into the taco jerry logo cut out.

Thanks for your reply. Would it be possible to order one that is enclosed completely instead of having the openings on the side? Perhaps drilling some drain holes on the bottom. This could be use as a storage as well.

Unfortunately no. I’ve had them all fabricated already. You are welcome to mod them however you see fit once you get one though.

Another one out the door! Having emergency potable water in these can come in handy!

did you figure out if it will fit with your bed cover? I’d love to know because I don’t have one. Does your bed cover mount on top of the bed rails or on the inside edge?

Hey everyone I would really like your help with something. I'm the designer of Taco Jerry and it's still super new to market. Could you tell me all the reasons you haven't grabbed one yet? Is it too extra? Is it non-essential? Is it too expensive?

I need some real market data from your comments on this ideas. Feel free to tear it to shreds or to says it's great.

    Just comment below.

    Personally I think it’s a good idea.

As for the price; I don’t know maybe a little high, but I have not done any comparisons.

For me it is a non-essential item. I have no room in the bed of my truck.

I will keep it in mind if I build a trailer. Could very useful.

I think the price is good but maybe a small increase that includes a locking bracket. I also think finding a way to allow roof rack mounting (similar to frontrunner’s mounts) might help sales.

Thank you that is super helpful! Everyone really wants the lock. It's crazy that theft is such an issue.

I’ve been eyeing these for awhile but things that have stopped me.

    1. I personally think it’s in the high end for just aluminum that is folded, welded and cut.

    2. no lock for the jerry can so I’d have to use a metal cable

    3. Only attaches to the bed rail no molle panels

    4. Maybe offer powder coating too? Could get some more sales.

I do like the design and sleekness of it. I have been hesitant on trying to make my own out of scrap metal but this looks way more professional

Personal opinion, btw I love it and want one, but I think for the purpose of it is overkill with too much metal. If you customize it more and make it more unique I think it would do better. I could easily grab some scrap
Metal and do a few tacs, drill a hole in it and attach it to my rail. But once again I still love it and will prob order one! I’m in Chesapeake btw.. VA Strong!

I put D rings into bolts in the side wall. When I want to haul water or gas, I run a tie-down strap through the rings and around the hitches. Not nearly as sexy as aluminum, but the cost was about $6 per side. I can strap 1 to 4 jerry cans or any number of other things. See the RH side of the rear bed in the attached photo.

This feedback has been super helpful! Thank you.

I've lowered the price of the base aluminum model and I've created a locking/cable strap system. I've also created a powder coated option.

Let me know your thoughts!! www.tacojerry.com

I have Jerry cans and am trying to stick with them rather than move to rotopax. Id love to mount mine with the can sitting horizontal, on its side. I've tried vertical and they don't fit under my diamondback. If you find a solution for this, I'd strongly consider this item.
