Soon after that I picked up a Craftsman toolbox off a buddy’s S-10 (it was free!) and refinished it. Also installed a CBI tire carrier and did the deck plate mod.

Found out there was a recall on my truck for the lower ball joints so I wasted no time getting it to a dealer for some free ball joints and an alignment.

In May 2011 right before heading down to Greeley, CO for some goodies from Addicted Offroad. :woot:

While in Greeley, I had an Addicted Offroad bumper and Trail-Gear sliders installed, and a Trail-Gear Hi-Lift mount welded to the CBI tire carrier. Scotty does fantastic work!

Over the next two months I had several other mods completed.
My brake pads were shot, so I picked up some new ones from Wheeler’s Offroad and decided to get some drilled/slotted rotors while I was at it.

    IMG_20110716_131106_d30cbb9e6fcc8cbc6809a1799168c91cd593804b.jpg

I relocated the rear diff breather. SO easy.

    IMG_20110727_130317_ce2b4c23e7f516f817d1119f9c74fc564981238b.jpg

Installed a Uniden 510. PERFECT fit in the ashtray location.

    And Budbuilts!

I bent the belly pan on my first trail run with them. Belly pan definitely needs to be reinforced before any serious wheeling.
The front skid holds up great though.

    P1030730_948d03e6bea726a0610a87938f9c8d1e60a12ce3.jpg

Sustained some hail damage so I replaced the windshield. The hail hit hard enough that it cracked the paint on the hood. Between the hail and wind damage, I figured it was time to refinish the hood, but expecting it to happen again… I decided to herculine it FTW. :D

I then installed a Smittybilt XRC8 winch with a 5/16” synthetic line from Viking Offroad. (Best pic I have, sorry.)

    P1040105_4d2d289e45e9d08c56f8bec89d9b3f14b109fe3b.jpg

I decided to get a Trail-Gear rear bumper next. I didn’t want the license plate to get caught on anything, so I relocated it to the tailgate with some LEDs. I bought the LEDs off Amazon without realizing they were for motorcycle plates but I modified it to make it work.

Picked up the Trail-Gear rear bumper from Addicted Offroad.

    Installed a Tomtom OneXL

Had an 18” Magnaflow installed and dumped before the axle. The exhaust was too close to the axle and actually melted the ABS wiring. I got the wiring replaced and the Magnaflow relocated closer to the cab and dumped straight to the ground. The video was made right after it was installed, it actually sounds better after being relocated.

Thanks man, lots more to come!

Haha yeah, I figured I'd be wasting money to repaint it if the hood is just gonna most likely get damaged again.

There would be a helluva lot of trimming so I'm probably gonna end up with some fiberglass fenders so I can trim a lot and still keep the tires under the fenders (temporarily moving to WI, where it's required) and I'm going to tub the firewall. That should work I hope!

Awesome!!! This has always been one of my favorite trucks on here!! I love things that look like pieces were found on the side of the road and thrown on. This is a beast! You switch between tires, don't you?

Oh sure... ...Maybe if someones winch wouldn't have broke, we could have gotten out... :p. I like how we both put this event in our build threads... Haha.

Glad you finally got one of these going, I was going to ask.

Oh, and you forgot to mention the mod you did by giving me your toolbox :D

I suppose I do. :D I'm running stock size Bridgestone Blizzaks as a dedicated winter set. I like to try out different tires for the 'experience'.

I was wondering when you'd show up and point that out haha!:D

I think there's a few things I forgot to mention... like the AFE filter and the 1 1/4" greaseable lift shackles.

I could post a quote of the text message you sent me at 11 pm that night saying you can't get your new shackles in and your old ones were damaged beyond repair, and you were stranded in another town :D
