Looking for some options and opinions on some Amazon special or similar 4" round LED lights for my plate bumper cut outs.

    Any recommendations?

If you're looking for some fog lights that are street legal, we have ones that will fit perfect. They are in our Gravity Series of LED lights and they are called the G4. It is a 4" round LED fog light, and it is available in either clear or amber LEDs. Here's the link for the G4s: http://www.kchilites.com/light-type/led/gravity-led/4-gravity-led-fog-light-pair-pack-system.html

If you're wanting something that has much more throw and would be more for off-road only use, check out our LZR Series 4" round light. These are a spot beam pattern pumping out 1,832 raw lumens per light and would also fit great for you. Here's the link: http://www.kchilites.com/light-type/led/lzr-led/kc-lzr-led-driving-lights-4-round-300.html

Might help to understand how you plan on using them. Strictly off road only? Street and off road? High beam distance vision, or?

I've got just a couple LEDs laying around to independently compare, you know without that pesky vendor bias on their own product. Unfortunately I don't have them all mounted on the rack yet, I still need to mount additional 4" round lights, so this is less than half the set. Should be a fun experiment.

I'm not sure why anybody here would run out and buy anything until crashnburn80 finishes yet another one of his exhaustive, yet easy to read comparison tests. I'm so tired of various manufacturers (and marketing types) over-stating the output of their lights that I'm holding off on buying my next set until he publishes his results. Then again, that's just me.

I bought them because I wanted some extra light on my land rover, the price is what I wanted to pay, and I don't need the most precise, brightest, fog lights. Looking at pics/video of the light output I will be happy with them. I will watch for his results tho

Thats awesome, what other lights do you need? are you comparing fogs to fogs, aux to aux? or just a general comparison of all lights?

I am not really looking for anything particular I suppose.

Just need something decent that wont break the bank and fit in the cutout holes in my bumper. Fogs would probably be preferred. I am honestly just looking for cheap recommendations. Not looking to spend $200 on lights. I have had awesome luck with the dirt cheap Amazon no name branded lights.

But now i guess ill wait to this monster review to come out!

I have all the lights for the test except one (some are just not pictured). The missing one is pricey, as it is attached to the 3rd Gen TRD Pro. I'll source a local 3rd Gen Pro truck from a forum member to put the OEM Toyota LED fogs into the test. The rack is built to mirror the 2nd Gen Pro dimensions for foglight height and spread of the mounts, for each light pair.

The thread will be on understanding pod beam patterns with some examples and a comparison of all LED SAE J583 compliant fog pods/Tacoma fogs.

Sounds like you are more interested in filling the bumper holes than the actual light output. If you just want to fill the holes any cheap fog LED like the Aux beam fogs mentioned above will do that. If you want a cheap LED to run it on the street make sure it has that 3 led vertical bar design and is designated as fog, and not a bunch of small forward facing LEDs on the lens, as those will emit massive glare and less usable light on the road. Look for one that has a tilt adjustment on the back as some cheap ones do not, which mean you cannot aim them. Your bumper matters too, does it require flush mount? How are the lights attached? That will affect which style light you need to buy. If it is flush mount, those lights will not have a tilt adjustment.

Super cheap LEDs like those mentioned above will be terrible in about every measurable way except price, so I do not advocate for that solution for light output. They will have poor output, light quality, color temperature, water proof rating, build quality, ect. Chances are the breather will fail in a couple years and they will have condensation issues inside the lens or worse leak/fill with water. The brands listed above by @paranoid56 and @Taylor@KC HiLiTES are on the other end of the spectrum, very high quality brands and both offer several best in class specs and likely the best color temperature on the market for night vision. Yes they cost much more than cheap throw away lights but, but you get what you pay for, especially with LEDs. I'm definitely a proponent of buying quality once. Baja Designs has a lifetime warranty, and KC has a 23yr warranty (might as well be lifetime) both very reputable companies. That said they are more expensive and you specifically said you were looking for cheap alternatives, just pointing out there are real differences between quality lights and cheap ones.

If you decide you are interested in light output, there are many different patterns as Taylor eluded to above, giving different options for different use cases. It helps to think about where you want more light and how you want to use your lights to select the appropriate type to meet your needs. A fog pattern will have a very wide low throw with sharp cut offs for near field illumination that is acceptable for street use with oncoming traffic. A 'driving' beam is a high beam light, and meant for distance while providing a wider field of illumination than say spot beams which are meant for maximum distance but very focused with little proximity illumination. Neither of the later two should be used on the street with oncoming traffic. There is a whole variety more patterns. If you want to have more light on the road surface near the vehicle and you select a spot beam, it isn't going to satisfy your needs, no matter how good the product is.

Another alternative is 4" halogen driving lights kits are very inexpensive. Again driving light is a distance high beam light so should not be used with oncoming traffic, but would be cheaper and provide more usable light output for the very low price point compared to similarly priced LEDs.

Once I'm done with testing all the lights, most will go up for sale in a massive LED FS thread.

Correct, they are the OEM Rigid LEDs.

I’m sure they are available for purchase through one means or another, but I speculate the aftermarket Rigid fog pods will have higher output at lower cost while maintaining a clean beam pattern than the OEM ones. But that is only speculation, this highlights the importance of side-by-side comparison testing, which is why I intend to include a 3rd Gen Pro truck in the tests.

I'm looking forward to @crashnburn80's review! That looks like quite a comprehensive lineup.
