Oh no I realize there's nothing to adjust, though some people talk about shimming, I was mainly curious what's considered 'in spec' for the sake of being in the know.

I hit a hard bump on my right side once a while back, and I have no bearing for how hard of a hit one can take before stuff bends.
I've also carried a few heavy loads very carefully...but in theory not so heavy the rear axle would of had trouble.

When I compare my alignment specs to google image results for other Tacoma's mine seem...a bit more extreme though.

Everything seems to ride fine but my curiosity got the best of me.

As far as tire wear those numbers are all gonna be just fine. With those caster numbers you might get a little pull to the right when driving but it's normal. I usually tune that out of my own alignments but thats gonna be just fine if it drives right. My girl is just too tall and too heavy and tires too thick lol

You would only be shimming if you have a lift or other modifications, and even then, not everyone needs to shim.

As for bent stuff, you would most likely see paint chipping off the metal where it's bent, or you would see marks where the U-bolts have moved, and it would be fairly obvious while driving. If it drives fine, I wouldn't worry about it.

There will always be small imperfections in alignments. That's why we rotate our tires...

I see .30 degrees on rear solid beams often, it seems like a lot, but its not a huge deal.

We start thinking about shifting or replacing parts when its 0.50 or higher,

The problem with shifting is, the axle likes where it is, and will want to return to that spot after one solid bump.

PS. All alignments are four wheel alignments, no one uses two wheel alignment as a term anymore. All four are used, the fronts reference the rears. Doesn't matter if they are adjustable.

Oh sick, hit the jackpot of info there.

    Thanks all!

Definitely adding some of that to my notes, as I'm the kind of person that likes to learn as I go.

I realize I don't have the tools to really do a self alignment, but being in the know and watching things is always valuable.

I don't like driveway alignments, always better to get it on the machine. I just either adjust it on the machine myself or I talk to the techs and tell them what specs I want. Now I run an alignment cam delete kit and I have maxed out caster to stuff big tires so my numbers make the techs shake their head but she drives straight and tires wear normal. Watching videos on how the geometry works and what the 3 main adjustments mean plus how they interact across is good if you plan or have done any mods.
