I have a 2000 4×4 Tacoma with leaf springs and shocks in the rear. The leafs are very worn because the truck was not taken care of when I got it. The shocks are cracked and will need replaced and the leafs aren't far behind them. I was wondering if I should replace with new leaf springs and shocks or upgrade to a 4 link coilover. I know how to install both kinds of suspension but which would be better.

Better is subjective. What do you plan on doing with the truck.

This truck is planned to more of a street racing and good handling vehicle.

The rear end will cost more than the value of the truck.

Upgrade the stock suspension with better versions first, then work on the go fast parts . You want the rear stiff and planted. Not linked.

Not on a 100% stock truck. 2 subwoofers isnt enough to need a suspension change.

OP 4 link is good for offroad. Which most these guys are referring to. There is a smaller 4 link setup that is accompanied with air bags and notching the frame. More for show not street racing.

With the leaf spring setup youd be better off with a spring under axle setup with trac bars to eliminate wheel hop

For better "street racing and better handling"? Do you own a S-Runner?
