4 Inch spindle lift with 16 inch wheels???

I have 16 inch rims on my 07 Tacom Pre-Runner. I want to use 4 inch spindles in a lift kit will they work with my 16 inch rims. A note in the add says need a 17 inch wheel. If so, why?

4in MaxTrac Lift Spindles, 2in Pro Comp AAL, MB 352 16x8.5 Wheels, 285/75/r16 General Grabber AT2s, 2.7L I4

Check the backspacing. If it is anything with more than 4.5in of BS they won't work without spacers

I have 16s with 4.5in of BS and everything works fine. Only thing with 16s is make sure when you get your tires balanced the wheel weights won't hit your calipers.
