sortof stock. 6112/5160, pro wheels and a tune.
so for the past 50 days, i have had the tires balanced 3 times, went to do the fourth at toyota this morning to do a road force balance. guy comes back says- well, i found the issue- you have tread separation on all 4 tires with shifted belts.
p265-75-16 on tacoma pro wheels btw.

so now i have to fight to get them replaced.
Anyone ever have an issue like this before???? Im pissed off, because I keep getting a run around who is liable. called toyo, they are closed. Toyota said it would be best to not drive on them too much. Which, I run 495 to work everyday outside DC...

good thing i keep stock wheels as backups.

I will look at those, but my question is what happens now when you have a defective tire, or all 4 for that matter.

Depends where you bought them, did you get them thru a legit national tire chain?
When I worked for Discount it a tire was obviously bad and had a manufacturer defect, we took care of it, we would credit you for the un used portion say if your tires were 75% you would get that much towards the purchase of what you wanted.
If you bought them online or thru a mom/pop shop that doesn't have much pull on the manufacturer your experience may very.
That's kinda the problem with the online dealers etc.
Better price but ya may end up paying for it if you have a problem.

have someone who knows tires look at the date code as to when the tire was manufactured remember the firestone/ ford debacle, that was one of the issues at hand was ford just like any other manufacture buys 1000's of tires at a time! then they sit in a warehouse and wait till they r needed, but as they sit new ones keep coming in so if they don't rotate stock you could've getting old tires. Would you buy food thats past it expiration date? i believe that tire manufacturers say 10 years is the expiration. I had a set of those firestone maypop tires on my old 88 s-10 4x4 i got a recall notice went to a locale firestone they put some other brand on my truck free of charge

Whoever sold them to you should be your advocate.

Don't expect a refund. Expect replacement tires.

So what happened to 'getting you straight' with warranty for defective tires?

Seems like part of the story is missing.....

If you only have 2k on those tires, then there is no reason why you shouldn't be getting new tires from whomever you purchased them from. I would fight for new tires, and tell the dealer you will report them to the BBB if you are not compensated.
