2015 4.0L Tacoma AFE Cold Air Intake and Borla Cat Back Exhaust currently looking at headers. Doug Thorley seems to be the way to go. Couple questions:

    1. Will this void my warranty?
    2. Long vs. Short headers what are the differences? Can I run the longs without throwing Check Engine Lights?
    3. Are the long headers better than the shorts or should I just be conservative and go with the shorts?
    4. Ultimately want the best application for my setup...main question is which should I get? Long or short headers?

Any and all input is greatly appreciated.

Short require welding ur cats in and provide no loss of tq and will remain smog legal....... longs should give more upper rpm hp but less tq low, wont cats, require zero welding, may cause rasp, will require 02 simulators to avoid check engine lights.

Also! Where can I or should I go for this installation? Cat back is easy bolt on not so sure about these headers. I don't want to mess anything up.

Have a set of DT short tubes sitting in my garage, waiting to be installed. You have to pull your stock headers off, cut the cats off of them and have them welded on to the DT headers, and then reinstalled. Headers are a bitch to work with, so they are gonna charge you $200-$400 or more for the installation. I'm going to be removing mine and having a shop weld the cats up, shouldn't run more than $200 tops.

Is there a reason you wouldn't just put the cat further down the exhaust run so you don't have to cut the headers themselves?

Not a lot of places to put them, and if you get too far away they don't work very well anymore.

Gotcha. I only ask because my RX7 had it's cat in the midpipe closer to the muffler. However, that car didn't have any issues not getting hot. Quite the opposite actually...

You could do a pair of MagnaFlow direct fit headers with the cats already installed

What do you expect to gain by going to headers?
