    Hey fellas

My dad can only trade in his Camry in Toyota.. Meaning we get best value for it in.. Toyota. We don't want Tacoma because I already have it with V6. I've owned 4runner before, he owned Land Cruiser before with Diesel ( In Europe ).

Basically, would you recommend Tundra for small business and daily drive? Or there is not much difference between Taco and Tundra for work & loads? because in price it seems like huge difference, so is it worth it? What about F150 V6? is it any reliable?

More power, more space, more comfort, more expensive, less MPG.

Only you can decide the worth.

One can never have too many light bars.
Check with your CPA if if would make a difference for you based on your tax structure and P&L. The Tundra qualifies for bonus depreciation because of its GVWR of over 6,000 LBS whereas a Tacoma is only 5,600 and doesn't qualify. You will still get to recognize deprecation expense on either vehicle but if you are staring down a tax liability you can kick that can down the road with a Tundra.

Yeah. I am just bit scared because all the engine problems Tundra had in new gen.. I might also go to Ford and see how much they will take Camry for.. Toyota is usually reliable but not sure with Tundra, might be same as F150... In that case F150 is even cheaper with more capability

Sell it to carvana or CarMax, take the check to wherever you want. Honestly, if I was buying a light to standard work vehicle, I'd buy a Ford.

Based on your remarks in your other thread, I'm quite surprised you're even asking...

    https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/why-did-you-buy-tundra.811150/

I mean, it's the weakest full size truck on the market and all.

It is, lowest towing/payload, unless we count the Nissan Titan which is just failure. However like I mentioned. We have Camry and trade in with Toyota gives more value rather than with Ford.. Its just Tundra costs as much as F150.. So that's where my doubt comes, is it really worth it? If Tundra had as much reliability as Taco , I wouldn't think twice but all these recalls make me question it.

    Carmax, used tundra?

do you want uptime or capability?

I'm kinda not well versed on trucks so

edit I see you put 3g tundra in the title. Personally I wouldn't want either of those to run a business with. Do you have any other choices?

Don't let trading in be your guide. Trade in is a shell game where the dealer wins every time. If they didn't, they wouldn't do it.

    Sell it outright.

The Tundra is still new but I've heard fewer problems on them lately than when they first came out, as expected. As for the Ford, they have only done minor refinements to their engine lineup since 2015. Not sure which V6 you're considering, but I've heard a lot of great things about the 2.7L EcoBoost from Ford. I've also personally driven the new Tundra and absolutely loved it although my experience with it was only for a few days.

As a bonus, I'm not sure where you live but the F150 is all aluminum so rust is a non-issue as far as the body goes. From an interior standpoint, I liked the Tundra better. From the exterior, the Tundra has grown on me but the front of the F150 looks better than the front of the Tundra. I'll give the sides and rear to the Tundra, but that's just personal taste.

    3.5L V6 ecoboost in F150 lariat.

Yea Tundra does look sick but I just dont feel confident that it can provide the power for work as full size pick up

Also the reason we do trade in and not sell it on market is because well.. The camry didn't hold up well lol. Its eating up oil whole lot. Battery died 2 times. Don't really want to be that guy who lies about car and the new owner thinking oh this is reliable camry! Until finds out car is eating oil .

We got it in 2017, and its at 133K miles. Didn't skip any oil changes but did use cheap fuel and just fram oil filters & oil. It had just too much wear and tear , especially during covid when jobs dropped and had to do some uber.

You see the thing is that I do not trust reliability in Tundra... Has bunch of recalls, some stuff like engine failure... Even here someone posted it, its just 1 car but who knows lol. You pay as much as 60K + in a truck, last thing you want is failing truck and you have to wait months to either get a new truck, refund or " fixed " issue.
It is still Toyota so.. I don't know.

That's the whole point why I am thinking if F150 might be better. We will go to Ford this weekend and see what they can offer. The Toyota only has Tundra's with the bs platinum non sense that costs like 70K+ dealer price without taxes.

If you're not sure it can, a 1/2 ton is not where you need to be looking.
