I have internetted for ~2hrs and can only find information on total gross vehicle weight for various stock models of Tacomas. What is missing is how much of the GVW is on the front versus the rear. In the owner's manual I can also only find the GAWR maximums, GVWR, and total load limits but those don't help when trying to figure out how much weight a person has added over the stock weight above each axle.

I have a 2017 double cab, longbox, sport that I have done a variety of things to and I know what my front and rear axle weights are as of right now. I am looking for comparison back to stock weight so I can figure out what the net changes are to the front and rear axle weights to help with suspension choices. Does anyone more proactive than me happen to have this info or know where to find it? Thanks in advance and please make sure to add which specific model the info is for as it will vary by model and options packages. At least it will be more info than I have now.

Only aesthetic mods so far Leer 180 cap & Clazzio covers on order.
Take your Taco to a truck stop that has a scale and have it weighed. The CAT scales are supposed to be quite accurate. I'm sure you can get it done by axle.

Easy to estimate... take gvw max and multiply by .6 for front and .4 for rear. That will get you in the ballpark.

+1 for truck stop, here in CO we have to weigh our trucks to register them if GVWR is over a certain amount I think last time it cost me like 12 bucks if I remember correctly. 18 wheelers are weighted per axle so just pull all the way forward so your front tires are on the pad for the semi steer tires and your rears are on the pad for the semi's drive tires.

Just so my question is clearer; I have stripped various stock things off of my truck and added back on various non-stock things and I also have a Leer canopy. I know that I have a net gain of weight because of the canopy, bed mat, tools, water tank, some armour, etc. I know I have a slight gain of weight on the front and more of the weight is over the rear. I need to quantify the net gains so I can pick the right springs for my vehicle based on comparing back to stock with what I weigh now and factoring in some other long-term plans for my truck. Scales in Canada are metric so I have converted kilograms to pounds so we're all speaking the same language.

I have weighed my truck WHEN EMPTY with me as the driver: front 1260kg (2778lbs), rear 1140kg (2513lbs), total 2400kg (5291lbs) which is a 53% front, 47% rear split
I have weighed my truck WHEN LOADED for a multi-week family of 4 trip with mountain bikes on a rack, etc.: front 1300kg (2866lbs), rear 1500kg (3307lbs), total 2800kg (6173lbs) which is 46% front, 54% rear

What this shows is that even though the total weight grew by 400kg (882lbs), only 40kg (88lbs) was carried by the front axle. The other 360kg (794lbs) was carried by the rear axle. This means that almost 90% of the load went to the rear leafs. Obviously packing the back differently would give a slightly different result but just to show that the loading of a truck is so rear-focused that your leaf springs do way more than the front coils for payload capacity.

What I want to know is what a stock double cab, longbox, sport weighs before any modifications get done to it. From the owner's manual, it says that for my model:
    - stock front axle max is 1380kg (3042lbs)
    - stock rear axle max is 1490kg (3285lbs)
    - stock payload max is 430kg (948lbs)
    - stock weight is 2115kg (4663lbs)
    - How much of the 2115kg (4663lbs) is on the front axle?
    - How much of the 2115kg (4663lbs) is on the rear axle?

With answers to the two questions above, I can back calculate how much extra weight is on my front and rear springs now and then estimate forward based on other potential changes to the truck.

Why don't you just talk to the spring manufacturer and tell them how much your truck weighs now and how much weight you plan to add.

I am not sure why replies are telling me to weigh my truck. Scales are free in Canada and, as noted above, have already done that step. In hindsight I should have gotten my stock weight 3 years ago but I didn't drive past a scale until I'd already done a bunch of work. Also, I can't test drive a dealership truck over a scale because I live far from a big city so that is also not an option. The only way to get the answers I need using my own truck is to remove 3 years worth of work to put the truck back to stock and then weigh it. That would take me days of work which is why I'm hoping for intel on the forums. What I don't know is what weight my truck started at stock so I can back-calculate from my current weight ranges (empty vs. loaded) and factor in some potential future mods. What I am hoping is that someone weighed their double-cab, longbox, sport when it was stock and wrote it down, or someone knows where Toyota hides this info.

I weigh 3440 in front and 4280 in back. I run custom elka coil overs in front and 1k Deaver stage 3 leafs in back. rides better than stock. I agree a balanced system is best. Bags in the back is a bandaid unless your go empty a lot too.
