Just bought my tacoma last week and its outside the bumper to bumper warranty and always like to check how the car is and noticed it has 3 prong plugs denso. k20hb8r i think it is. for some reason at autozone they gave me iridium 1 electrode models brand autolite hooked them all up (was actually harder than my bimmer) changing the plugs.. gapped to .28 ish car ean bad. pulled codes multiple misfires. set to .043.. same shitty idle and misfires... i would guess we need to use twin electrodes or the 3 prong only? i noticed the ones in the car were gapped at .029ish and they were running fine.. wtf is the deal with the plugs being so hard to get to sheesh lol had to take off the manifold and all the hoses brackets etc ... so ridiculous

I'd go oem on plugs. Someone just did a write up on this with some tricks. I'm mobile so can't link the thread right now.

there is but the plugs people mentioned were single electrode. i think it might be the crummy autolite brand plugs. im putting the older plugs back in and they were denso iridium so i hear those last a good 60k plus. ive done plugs a ton of times before on many cars.

Run what you want, but I wouldn't put anything but ngk or Denso in anything I own or work on. I'd run ngk glow plugs in my 7.3 if they were available when I changed them.
