I love the truck and is make the drive again but hell if I'll ever go anywhere near AutoNation Toyota in LV. F$&@ them!

I was just about to call Autonation in LV for a quote. Can you tell me why they suck? PM is cool if you don't want to be public.

Sidenote, I was told Model #7545 new MSRP is $32,460 today by a dealer. Looks like a +$360 bump.

Toyota of corvalis. I can give you my salespersons contact if you guys are interested. I'm flying from Ontario to Eugene which is 30 mins from corvalis on next Thursday to get my truck. The ticket was $140. It's worth the hassle to buy out of state and save the money.

I've done it twice in a year.

Calculate out tax where you're buying and your local CA tax. (Oddly, it was slightly cheaper to pay CA tax both times -one from Louisiana and one from NV)

Pay taxes, get smogged, may need a weight certificate (My DMV office accepted the Toyota Certificate of Origin weight). Tag fee/s. Bring proof of insurance and Bill of Sale with price paid on it.

I'm sure I left out something tho.

WOW...things are so different around the country.

Looking for a model 7545 (MSRP $36,558+TTL). Started calling around...
    - Los Angeles..."don't bother, I will charge you MSRP. If the truck arrives on the lot, it will be market up $3k over MSRP and sell all day"
    - Boise, ID..."how is $1500 off MSRP to start?"
    - Las Vegas..."Truck is hard to find, $35,000 is my price for you, with a $499 doc fee"
    - Omaha, NE..."we'll do $34,400 + TTL"

Interesting. Note this will probably be for a special order. More calls out there...

Learning Point: PEOPLE...KNOW PRECISELY WHAT YOU WANT AND CALL AROUND. Be willing to spend the two days and $250 of airfare/hotel/gas to get back home.

Don't bother calling. Just email their fleet department. I don't want them having my number to harass me. Just ask for invoice pricing and see if they bite. That's all I did and all it took was a few hours one night. The next day had 2 dealers willing to honor the price.

If you catch the truck early enough on in the allocation they can change it to fit your specs.

This thread has been such a huge help. I've been working with several dealers all across the front range in Colorado on building a new truck. When I show up and say I want to pay invoice (+$900 Delivery) they all seem to oblige without much of a fight. Now if I could just get them to drop the D&H fee ($499). Hopefully I can get one "preferenced" today.

I went in looking for the prices based on the first page including the destination.

Example: Invoice for my truck for truck, tech, towing, mudguards, and destination was $35,462 and that is what I went in looking to pay before taxes, title, registration and all that. I ended up finding a dealer that was $105 above that price, but then of course they hit me with the $399 documentation... I still took the price since dealer was local, and offered free oil changes for the life of the truck every 10,000 or twice a year.

If any one is looking for any Toyota Truck, Tacoma or Tundra, 4runner etc. and you are willing to travel to Pittsfield Mass, i suggest you contact Scott O'Connell at Haddad Toyota. Contact him via email (first initial last name) @haddadauto.com. I got a DCOR LB 4x4 with Tow TRD right at invoice plus destination and ttl. If you want details PM me. I go his name from another TW member 30yrtoyotaowner. This guy is the real deal. Took my order and did not even require a deposit. I told him I was in no rush and 4 weeks later he sent me a text saying that he just unloaded my truck off the truck. Two days later I drove up and picked up my truck. Spent less than an hour at the dealership. Best car buying experience i have ever had.
