What are your best or favorite mods for performance? I’ve done the OVtune and it helped but I feel there’s still more to be had

OV 2.0 and dump tubes is about the "simplest" performance mods. If you're MT, the ADM, CORE shifter, and a slightly heavier knob will greatly improve the overall experience.

IMO re-gearing would be the next step up, then some form of forced induction if you wanna go down that rabbit hole.

if you want to stay naturally aspirated then a free flow (media-less) exhaust combined with OV tune will open your performance significantly. I've been redoing and tuning mine for about 3 years. i started with the TRD exhaust which sounds good but performs horribly, so the trick for me was to open it up and keep a sound i could live with.

honestly, though, i wouldn't recommend any performance work like this unless you can make use of it by controlling your own revs, so MT or it'll still drive like a pig.

Has anyone noticed the tuning helping with the constant gear shifting? Or is that issue just as present as ever?

Tuning is the best bang for your buck hands down. Ask anyone who's done the stock vf tune or kdmaxx. Night and day.
It won't turn your taco into a dragster, it will just drive the way it should have from the factory. Lot more lively and shifts so much smoother.
