3rd Gen Midnight Blue Metallic Touch Up Kit

Hey all, tried doing some searching but turned up squat, not even in the 3rd gen color thread.

I've got a 2019 TRD Sport DCSB, in "Midnight Blue Metallic". I've found sporadic info, at best, about this paint color on the internet, I can't even find many other examples of Tacomas in that color. I'd like to snag a touch up kit, since my luck has held out so far at 45k+ to where I haven't needed it, but by typing that, I'm sure that luck will run out shortly. Pics attached of my truck and the door jam with the paint code (218) and trim level (LC27) info, I've found a few kits for that paint code but want to make sure I end up with the exact right paint for my truck.

Don't judge me too heavily for the stock aspect (all I've added is the step rails), I have some plans in the works for upgrades and tweaks lol.

 

Midnight Blue Metallic or Midnight Black Metallic?

 

Midnight Blue. It doesn't show up very much in the photo, I'll try to get a better one later, but the base paint is blue with a layer of metallic flake. Truthfully I've been referring to it as "bass boat blue" in that it reminds me of that deceptive blue on a fishing boat.

 

An gotcha! I have midnight black metallic and it looked like the same color as my truck in the photo.

You could try a dealership or an auto body shop. Another option would be places that sell bed caps because those manufacturers all do color matching. When I purchased my ARE cap they color matched it perfectly. Even had all the blue fakes in the paint.

 

I have MBM (midnight black metallic). Your truck looks to be midnight black metallic as well. If you google the paint code, it also comes back as black. It could be that the sun has weathered it a bit but your truck is black. But i know what you mean, the flake in it can make it look a little different when its fully cleaned

 

It’s midnight black. They never made a midnight blue.

 

I'll need to see if I can find my paperwork from the dealership - I distinctly recall it not being black, because I actually wanted black but the only thing they had in stock at the time (November 2019) was the one I bought.

It's also possible I'm just insane.

 

To everyone's credit here, the registration does say "BLK", so it's always possible the stealership fucked up the paperwork, shocker. Hey if it's actually black, I'm happy. But I've just always noticed a blue tint when the sun catches the metallic flake.

 

Found all my paperwork from the dealership, and I'm just an idiot. "Midnight Black Metallic" it is, sorry for the useless thread folks!
