Hello all, finally figured I'd stop lurking and be helpful to others ;)

tl;dr: 33s with a 2.5~3 inch lift fit with absolute minimum rubbing.

    Summary:
    • I put on an Old Man Emu lift kit for my 2016 Tacoma DCSB and Falken Wildpeak 33s (285 R16s) on the the stock rims.
    • I can confirm that out of the gate, the tires fit with virtually no rubbing (there is super minor rubbing on the upper control arms at full locked out turns and clears otherwise).
    • There is no rubbing in the well and no need for a cab mount chop (yet, that I can see).
    • I did opt for a quarter-inch spacer on the front so the tires clear the UCA even at full turn.
    Rig:
    • 2016 DCSB TRD OR, Manual Transmission, 3.5L V6
    • Aftermarket partial steel bumper + winch (works with weight upfront)
    Gear:
    • Old Man Emu Lift Kit
    • Falken Wildpeak (285/75 R16s)
    • Quarter-inch lug-centric wheel spacers in front (to clear UCA at full turn)
    Performance:
    • Handling: Substantially improved over stock suspension (way more grip, better on curves, can do some real off-roading now)

    • Power: Some power loss for sure, but re-gearing isn't necessary for me
      • Check out this forum post though: Tacoma Gear Ratios
      • Manual Transmissions are 4.30 stock, Automatics are 3.909 stock
      • This means that if you have 4 cylinder or automatic, the power loss may feel a lot worse for you

    • Fuel Economy: A little bit worse, but nothing too bad. How you drive makes a bigger difference

And the lift and tires perform well and look great!

    Overall:

    100% satisfcation

The space between the tire and UCA is tight, but the UCA moves with the tire, so will be alright. With a quarter inch lug-centric spacer, the lugs have plenty of bite to snug down and there is no rub even at full cock.

Without spacers, you'd rub a bit on a max turn, but would be alright otherwise I reckon.

I've since taken the rig hundreds of miles on and off pavement and into some pretty rowdy jeep trails (I'll make a post about damages later...).

So if you're thinking of doing it, DO IT!
