I am looking to plug my radio in and run the wire underneath the center console.

I’d like to just use existing connectors and not splice anything - I am fine with sacrificing access to that outlet as it’s still reversible if I really want to go back. I tried to remove the cigarette lighter from the center console, but it was not easily coming out in spite of pushing down on tabs and pushing out towards the front of the truck - at this point, I’d like to just route it underneath with an aftermarket cigarette lighter and keep the OEM one in its original place.

The easiest thing seems to be to attach an aftermarket cig lighter to the connector underneath the panel with the shifter and e brake.

The connectors unfortunately do not line up correctly as the OEM.

How can I connect this without shorting anything? Nothing is marked positive or negative on either the packaging of the cigarette lighter, or the black and yellow factory wires on my 2018 Tacoma.

    Thanks for your help folks.

Edit: the other cigarette lighter you see (in the photo) is one I also bought that I thought would fit, but the prongs do not align.

Just cut the stock piece down the middle in half and reuse it

Wound up making a connector like this, and got to keep my original outlet.
