I used the worthless search function and turned up nothing even though I know it exists. Maybe I don't know how to use it properly... I need to see BHM's for the 2016. "How to" preferably. Pulling the headlights on a 2016 are a P.I.T.A! Mine are already out so I think I'm going to do this now, while they're out. Someone please help...

Sub'd for future oven melting. From what I have gathered, the 3rd gen uses permaseal which is a B*#$& to break open. Please post a pic of the inside projector when you have it apart!

Does this really improve illumination of the road in the dark?

Might be due to the fact on this site it's more commonly referred to as "Black Headlight Mod" or BHLM

Close but no cigar with "blackout headlight mod" or BHM as you call it

I would recommend contacting Tom at HIDProjectors.com

I sent my lights to him. He color matched the paint and added two 55 watt projectors to each light. Should have them installed next weekend.

How much that run you? And how long did you have to drive around with big holes in the front of the truck?

It was a custom job and their first time attempting on a 16. So it took almost 2 weeks to complete..l would probably only be a few days for next person though...

It's not my primary vehicle so I didn't have to do much driving around during the wait.

It's a great company and Tom is excellent with his communication and answering any questions..

Was my first BHLM so I watched a few videos and took my time. Was without my truck for ~1.5 days overall. I ordered some butyl sealant on Amazon so I could reseal them without silicone. Covered cardboard (just the bottom and edges) with alum foil to cover the oven rack. Removed the headlights and all bulbs and screws and other stuff. Set oven to 270 degrees. I think I used 15 min at first but wasn't able to separate then rebaked for ~7 min (the first one I had to rebake twice). I was able to do most of the separation with my hands (had gloves with rubber grippers). Be careful not toscratch the lenses. I kept everything super clean and had a clean towel to work on. I had to rebake both after I was able to achieve partial separation but I pretty much just used my hands and took my time. The hardest part was getting all thepermaseal off. I had to keeprebaking the black housing in order to keep it soft. The stuff is rock hard. I used krylon for the internals after scuffing with steel wool and cleaning with alcohol. I used rustoleum tint (removable like plastidip) for the side reflectors. Put a bead of butyl rubber around the housing in the groove pressed them together and rebaked to seal them. While they were still hot I put all the screws in to pull the housing and lens back together.
