Has there been a Tacoma canbus option added in the update?

3D printed dash mounts for the JOYING head unit. Securely bolts to the head unit with 2 bolts each side. Mounts directly to the dash with no modification required. If anyone is interested in buying one, then just shoot me a message or email me (tukestar2@gmail.com)

Within the past week, my Joying head unit disconnects from my phone when I drive through an area of limited/no cell service (therefore the hotspot connection breaks). This is the first instance of this happening in my 2.5 years of owning the unit. I think I'll update the unit, but has anyone else noticed this phenomenon recently?

There are usually settings in the phone that turn hotspots on or off depending on internet signal.

Good idea, and I recently updated my iPhone to ios16.1.1. Within the hotspot settings I don't see an option, but will keep looking into it.

I’m still running the android version 8 that came loaded on the unit when I installed it 2.5 years ago. I just formatted a USB (FAT32) and unzipped the latest update to it. I plugged it into the usb connector but the update isn’t starting… any ideas?

I’m almost positive I tied the usb connector from the head unit into the stock position in the truck… 90% sure. Really don’t want to pull the dash to investigate.

If you need some help or info, hit me up. I replied to you in conversation. Joying finally sent me a working Canbus after two months of back and fourth emails. It is an amazing unit.

I was playing some SNES with an Xbox controller on my way to Vegas yesterday. Lol

I see Joying's page listing the updates: https://www.joyingauto.com/blog/category/updated-files-released/

And I know I purchased this model: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07W1ZML6V?ie=UTF8

But can't seem to identify which updates applies. I purchased my head unit in May 2020, it's possible that there are no updates for it since date of purchase.

I have been reading this thread and it’s making me want to give this HU a try.
My stock HU started having issues so I have to replace it.
I really just want apple car play (mainly for Apple Maps and Spotify) and a big screen. I would also like to be able to use ONX maps.

I bought the jvc m780bt a $400 HU that with all the accessories needed to install brought up the price to $700.
I haven’t received the HU but I already feel I want to return it because it doesn’t have wireless AAP and the screen is only 7” the only thing kinda keeping from returning it right away is that it has HDMI input.

i know the pioneer 6600nex would fit my needs perfectly but I can’t justify the price.

The issue has been had by a few people. I dont remember the solution, but it was either plugged into the wrong video on plug, a plug that was not plugged in right (there are some random wires on 1 side that need to be plugged into something) or there was a wire that needs to be cut.

Since I have the original unit I dont know much about the newer models since they changed the wiring so much on them.

im not exactly sure what you mean. there seem to be two yellow "camera connectors" on the harness and one that comes from the truck. so im not sure how to connect them.

If it's anything like the PX6, one is for AV/IN, so you can put some video source there. The other is for the front camera.
I thought the factory one was just wired into the harness. Maybe things changed. Which one did you go with?

What material are you using for this? PLA will definitely melt. PETG will also melt. I had a PETG ring at the front to organize some cables and it melted right off at 100% infill.
