    Hey all,

I just installed my bed racks but they obstruct the 3rd brake light on the cab. I wanted to get a light bar of some sort that I could attatch to the back of my racks and wire it up to either the tail light or to the trailer 4-pin connectors. I'm a dingus so I'd prefer plug n' play if possible but I could juevos up and just do some splicing and dicing. Would be nice if it complied with any DOT guidelines for a 3rd brake light.

Any recommendations on the lights and a plug n play kit for it?

    Thanks!

A little pricey, but these are pretty slick looking and would easily attach to a rack. Designed to use as a 3rd brake light, integrated reverse light and has a cargo light. Strictly speaking, not an SAE compliant light though.

Not at all man, Ill play. :fistbump:

Here is my set up. It’s definitely not plug and play, but I just used posi taps and tapped into the brake light.

The lights were from Amazon , I will have to look up which brand but they are definitely plenty bright. They came in like a pack of 6 or 8. I just used the 4.

Mine only come on when the brakes are applied, I didn’t want them to be as running lights.

We basically have the same set up! These are pretty sick! I'll keep these in mind while I look for some plug and plays. Thanks!

Edit: How did you run the cables from the rear bracket down the arm and into the tail light while staying hidden?

If you zoom in on the drivers rear arm of the rack you can kinda see the wire exposed. I have a Bakflip tonneau cover , and I ran the wires in the channel.

From there directly down and zip tied them to my bed stiffeners and down through the bed. Then I removed the tail lights and routed them up and behind the light to tap for power.

I don’t have all those pics , but can get them for you in the next day or so if you want.

Only if they were available, they would definitely be sweet.

Also forgot to add. I used a waterproof connector for the lights and it’s tucked away in that drivers rear arm.

So when I ever need to remove the rack I can just unplug the lights and take everything off all at once.
