Decided to draw up some adapters to mount a pair of audiofrog gb25’s in the stock dash location.

    1st attempt
    480C0C8A-9C86-4DDE-9BBB-BB9B5C600686_zps_eec85eb9ecbbc9e137da738ee2175dc19cd6c779.jpg

2nd attempt without the flanges just to perfect the actually mounting area of the midrange

Ultimately the design wouldn’t work at the driver is as big as the mount holes in the dash so I ended up redrawing everything with a much simplier design.

So I finally printed out the new adapters. Looks pretty good in my book.

Soooooo, anyone know if 2nd gen tweeter mounts are the same as 3rd gen mounting points? Besides them being in completely different locations, what I mean is would the mounts match up? Plus, are you just making them for you or would you be interested in selling a set?

I’m open to designing and selling these. Are you looking for an exact set or with a different mid?

Printed with abs plastic. Same oem 2D dimension from the top. The cutout is 2” to fit my Alpine tweeters.

I finally dropped the Alpine tweeters on the dash. They sound so clean. I wish I could meet someone with the kicker set and see if they compare. I hope that my extra effort paid off.

What size are the tweeters? I may have some already printed. Otherwise I’m out of the country for a month.

That sounds good, but keep in mind that you’re going to have to spend a bit of money for a 5ch to maximize the RMS of your speakers as well as your subs. I have component JL 6x9’s up front and component JL 6.5’s in the rear with a single JL 12TW3 in a custom enclosure. Instead of spending $800 on a 5 channel capable of putting out the power I needed, I went with the JL JX500/1D mono amp and the JL JX 4 channel amp. I got both plus all the wiring i needed (speaker wire, rca cables, dual amp power kit, etc.) for $680 out the door and the dual amps collectively put out more power.
