Everything is working now, even the touchscreen!! Check this post.

--Title edited to reflect the new system brand (AutoSee). Installation process is exactly the same. Old ebay system wiring not compatible with new system. I had to rewire everything again, although a lot easier this time . --Latest info here.--

After buying an Acura MDX with 360 cameras, which I loved. Started looking into what options were available for my truck. I already upgraded my head unit to an Android one, so the reverse input was already an RCA plug. My guess is, it might work also with the stock head unit.

Anyways, bought a bird view system from Ebay(cheap one). First one was defective. After some troubleshooting the seller agreed to send a new one. The installation process takes a lot of time. You have to remove the doors panels, side mirrors and fish the cables thru the door conduit into the cab. Bottom line not for the faint of heart. I also replaced the stock tailgate camera with the one that came with the system.

Lessons learned: I should've bought a better/expensive system from szdalos or other manufacturer. Mine is laggy and the image quality could've been better. Also I should've look for a system with Analog High Definition(AHD) output. I tested a AHD camera and the quality is outstanding.
Make sure that the system also comes with the impact/vibration sensor. Also the systems require a calibration cloth or tape, make sure it is included.

Current System: It does the work all the cameras have a field view of 170 degrees. Also the DVR feature is really useful. As soon you start the truck all the cameras start recording. The system brings a remote to choose the camera you want to display.

    Installation:
The hardest part are the doors, some drilling required.
    20190815_175809.jpg 20190815_175812.jpg 20190815_175912.jpg 20190815_180056.jpg 20190815_180243.jpg 20190815_180808.jpg 20190815_180951.jpg 20190815_180956.jpg

Now, measure twice X 10 and drill once.

Now, I re-installed the base to drill the frame.

Was there a reason for the exact placement if the cameras? Just wondering since looks like you used the pencil marks on your tape ruler which is pretty exact.

Well, I was guess..timating. But it turned out really well. The other day I saw a 2020 TRD PRO with 360 and the cameras were located almost at the same spot.

Thats good to know. My concern was i would drill something important in the mirror. I will be installing the power folding mirror kit, Meso mirror pods and side cameras so I will have a ton of wires coming out of the mirrors. I hope they all fit.

They work well for what I paid for. It really helps for parking and maneuver on tight spots. My only complain is the lag, it takes some time rendering the 360 image I guess. Not too important at low speeds, again it is a cheap one.

If I new what I know now, probably spend more money(probably will) getting a more robust system.

Like these ones, with AHD output.(I always tell them is a Sienna. That's how I got the Android HU.)

Thanks, I hope it helps others. It is also a security issue. Sometime people or kids pass running behind the truck or a low concrete post at the side. The more info about the surroundings, the better.

If you have replaced your head unit with one that supports AHD be sure to look into a compatible camera. This is a bench test I did with an AHD camera. Although it is a picture of a screen, it really looks good.

I don't really dare to say. Mine looks like red/rose gold? Be sure to read the reviews and what is included. Vibration sensor, calibration cloth etc. I am not endorsing any brand. Make sure to ask all the questions to the seller.

This exactly what I bought.(I would not buy now)

No, I wouldn't. Again It is a matter of budget. It works ok for the price. Read the reviews of that one and others. Anyway you can always return it.
