Currently I have 285/75/16’s mounted on raceline 16x8 0 offset wheels. No rubbing. Got thinking about changing to a 305/70/16 which turns out to be the same height but up to an inch wider tread. Im not concerned with the height but the width. I would like a slightly wider tire on there. I believe I have enough space from the tire and the stock UCA to fit it but I’m nervous. I think that would be the only spot that would interfere. Anyone done it? I can’t find many posts of this size being used. I’ve seen some 305/65/17 on 17x9 wheels which would push the wheel 1/2” further in (assuming 0 offset) than my current race lines.

    Gonna be tight!

Dead set on keeping the wheels?
What tire brand/model you looking at?

The picture is slightly deceiving. There is more room than it looks. Yeah I’m keeping the wheels. No reason to change them. Falken at3w most likely

In theory it’s 1” wider overall. So it would put 1/2” more tire towards the UCA. I believe I easily have that much space currently.

    Send it!
Do you have the Falken AT3 on currently? (285/75R16)

Only other thing I have sometimes seen over the years would be guys running 0 or +offset rubbing at full lock on the frame

Currently I don’t rub there. The overall diameter is the same so I presume cab mount rub wouldn’t be increased any. The frame itself being a wider tire may be an issue. I haven’t checked to see exactly how much room I have there so ill have to check.

Do it and report back. I have seen a few 305s in research but not many. Conservative offset like yours give the best shot. Also wondered if the 305s being rated E2 ment they were a bit softer (65psi max, not 80). I have considered them but likly going 295
