Hello Tacoma World, this site has helped a lot in creating my vision for my truck. Thank you all. This is my first post and I'm hoping you can share some insight. I have a 2011 Tacoma TRD Sport. I JUST put a 3 inch pro comp lift on it (just finished today) and after I brought it home I noticed that the rear sits 1 inch lower than the front. It's obvious to the naked eye and I also measured from the center of the hub cap to the top of the wheel well. It's almost exactly 1 inch. I'm not at all happy with this look. At a min imum it would sit level, but ideally the rear would be a tad bit higher. I think that j ust gives it a more aggressive all-around-better look.

Do you know why it would sit lower in the rear and is it something the shop can easily adjust?

I imagine this topic has already been beatin to death but I'm having trouble finding answers to this question. I'm going to reach out to the shop that installed it tomorrow but fist wanted to get your opinions.

    Thanks all!

the front should settle some. Im not sure how much with your setup. But what did you do with the rear? AAL? full leaf pack?

Now you just lift the rear with an AAL, blocks or new spring pack. Not a big deal, no adjustment as it sits. An AAL or 1" blocks are probably the most cost effective for your situation.

Thanks guys. I'm new to this. I didn't do anything to the rear. Didn't know that I had to, and it was never brought to my attention. I guess I naively assumed the truck would stay level with just the lift.

you should look into something for the rear. AAL is a good option. People will say stay away from blocks (but they are the cheapest). Full leaf pack like Dakars or All Pro. You might need new rear struts too.

But so far, the truck looks good. What wheels are those?

Thanks fatfurious2! The wheels are FN Six Shooters.

    Why stay away from blocks?

others hopefully will chime in. Blocks might be fine if you never go off road, but they dont serve much purpose, besides for looking pretty.

Blocks are fine, they will get you what you want for little cash. They are purely cosmetic and dont add to any suspension function. This is why people give grief over them. You could probably get away with 1 or 1.5" without changing shocks or U bolts.

It looks like that kit has blocks as a selectable option. If you already have blocks, then they would be sitting below your rear leaf spring packs. If they are present then an AAL is the next best step. You can get them used on the classifieds here and they are reasonable to ship as long as they are not already part of a leaf pack. If you don't see any block resting on top of your axle below your spring packs then you either did not get them with the kit or they are still sitting on the shop bench next to the U bolts.

On a side note, I see you are in Denver. I am in the Springs. I have a set of OEM (4 leaf) springs with an AAL already assembled that you slap in there. They have 10k on the AAL and leveled out my ride with 5100s 2.5-3" lift up front. No shipping would save money and already assembled would keep you from having to pay a shop to do it. Check with the shop first and make sure your blocks are already in there.

In addition, I love the hell out of those wheels too. I just never pulled the trigger. They look awesome on your truck and unless you are flared out Baja style, I also prefer the rake of a higher rear end.

Thanks man! I really appreciate all of the tips/knowledge and offer for the OEM springs. I'll talk with the shop today and let you know. I also noticed you were in the Springs so that would be super convenient.

No worries, plenty of hack jobs on here already learned some hard lessons.

Spoke with the shop this morning. They confirmed that blocks are on the rear... but I'll try to look and confirm myself tonight. They said they expect it to settle after 500 miles or so and it should be level. I'm skeptical that it will settle an inch+ but we'll see.

According to the quote I got, the coils in front are 3 inch and the blocks are 1.5 inch. Maybe I'm missing something but seems obvious why the front would sit higher....

I wheeled the piss out of rear lift blocks, don't know why people rag on them.. they are a decent option and cost next to nothing

I ran an AAL with my OEM 4 leaf pack and 1" blocks plus shim. I have the OEM 4 leaf packs with AAL and shim still pinned to them. I sold the 1" blocks already but you don't need those.

The only negative thing I have heard about blocks is contribution to axle wrap. I never a had a problem because I was geared with stock gearing, 1" blocks and also had to an AAL to beef up the leaf pack. I mainly hear it from 1st Gen guys on weak stock leaf pack with big blocks.
