I have a 2022 tacoma off road edition and i want to raise the front end for clearance and to fit bigger tires. How does a 3 inch leveling kit hand off road and is it reliable?

I had 3” kit are you referring to? The leveling kit usually raises the front end to “level” it to the back. Some truck lower the rear end with a shackle to “level” the truck from front to back. Are you referring to the rough country space kit?

Spacer lifts are fine offroad, but have the possibility to bottom out hard and damage the shock.

If you plan on just doing mud and logging roads they're fine.

Crashing off rocks, water crossings etc, pony up for a proper lift.

    Buy once, cry once.

If you are planning to do a lot of off roading? Stay away from space kits or those budget kits for the looks…my opinion..here…
There is a very good reason…because off roading really stretches the suspension…you will want something that can handle and perform safety while going off road…. Research this further…talk to many off road shops for the pros and cons about spacer lifts vs coil overs setups..

    Work in progress...
If you are installing the spacers yourself then would give it a try and see how you like it. If you are paying for the install then you might want to think about upgrading to the "stage 1" type of lifts that come with shocks and or springs. Also 2inches higher up front vs 3 inches up front can save you from additional work/money. Also, for what it's worth, the 3" lift in the front will not help you to clear any bigger tires. Have someone turn the tires side to side while you watch from outside. The place with the least amount of clearance is where the rear of the front tire clears the inside of the front fender. Measure the distance and measure down 3 inches on the tire. Actually decreases the clearance if you raise the front of the truck. But, the lift looks great so if that is what you are going for then you should be fine for casual off roading activity on the weekend or days off etc.

I spent a week in moab with my rc 3" leveling kit . We were doing many trails drove 1500+ mi home still dd my truck and even upgraded my suspension to a rc 6" lift I'm at 154k mi still no issues with my drivetrain . I still do weekend offroading and still no issues . When I offroad I take my time be easy on my yota . I offroad for fun and take it easy so I don't jeopardize breaking drivetrain. You know at times you might have to give her the goose to get over some obstacles ,but honestly slow and steady always wins the race .

Many years ago..my best friend brought his first Tacoma truck…couldn’t afford those expensive lifts..put spacers…he was so happy for a cheap lift…! Bigger tires too
He is avid fisherman and hunter..lives in California..travels to other States ..to fish and hunt..
A year later..he remove them…his Tacoma could not handle those really rougher trails..

Also has a home , near me in Hawaii..and today wants a newer Tacoma or possible a Tundra..his old Tacoma is going to be rebuild including a newer engine..has over 250,000 miles and will be ship to Hawaii..
    Wants a Army green..one..
    Aloha
