I am currently looking to install some sort of turbo charger on my 2002 3.4L. I have looked on ebay, Amazon, and several performance websites. There are so many options. what is going to be my best option for a turbo kit. I would like to eventually run true duals for exhaust and run one turbo off of each side. If that cannot be done in my budget or time a single turbo would work. With that being said what is the best option i can get.

How much money do you have and how much boost do you want to run?

Just get the electric turbo chargers on ebay that run on a 12v battery. They are pretty sick, add like 50 hp.

Yes, definitely will raise your smiles per gallon lol. I'm looking for a cheap one to rebuild, too. Just a matter of time until a good deal comes along!

Everything in the motor is stock now budget depends on how much I'm getting out of the kit. Also would it be better to get the trd supercharger?

This is the closest thing to a full turbo kit for the 5VZ. It doesn't include any fuel upgrades, ECU piggyback for tuning, or exhaust other than the manifold and downpipe. You would need to have a custom exhaust built, install and run an AFR sensor and boost gauge at a minimum, and source and install fuel system upgrades (high flow fuel pump, larger injectors, etc).

    https://www.cxracing.com/turbo-kit/...lexus-truck-hilux-tacoma/TRB-KIT-5VZFE-IC-KIT

The supercharger is much more of a bolt-on upgrade, although to make it run really well you would want to consider a larger exhaust and a fuel upgrade such as the URD 7th injector controller.

Either way you're looking at around $4k as a base price for all new components. More HP = more $$$

the turbo kit you have shown i was reading about it and it said it is not for street use. Is that meaning it cant be used on roads because it would have problems running constantly?

I don't know about that, I'm guessing it's not street legal or DOT approved or something so they had to put that on the website. It will probably run just fine as long as it's tuned correctly.

It means that it doesn't meet emissions regulations...usually most sites will say "Not street legal in CA" or something like that, but if it doesn't specify CA then it's probably not smog legal in most states that have emissions checks.

Some states don't have emissions checks, some only do safety checks, some only want to make sure you don't have smoke coming out of the tailpipe. Others (like CA) have a very detailed and strict set of standards both visual and diagnostic that have to be met to pass the test, if you don't then you can't register your vehicle.
