I'm looking for the tool that holds the harmonic balancer while loosening the bolt on a 2.7 2TRFE engine. The ones on Amazon all list the 3.4 V6, and despite sincere examination I cannot find one specifically for the 2tr. Does anyone know a company that makes one, or if you've bought one can you provide the amazon link.

(Yes, I am aware one can bump using a breaker bar. I'd like to avoid doing this. It works when it works, and mangles stuff when it doesn't.)

    Thx much guys

The FSM's show the same crankshaft pulley holding tool SST numbers (09213-54015 Crankshaft Pulley Holding Tool) and (09330-00021 Companion Flange Holding Tool) for the 2.4l (2RZ-FE), 2.7L (3RZ-FE), 3.4L (5VZ-FE) 2.7L (2TR-FE) and 4.0L (1GR-FE) so I would think one for the 3.4L would work.

Gotcha - so we're lookin at basically the same harmonic dampener pattern for the 3.4, 4.0, and 2.7?

This will make things much easier if so.

Must be close enough that they use the same tool, I looked at the FSM SST section for each engine and the balancer holding tool numbers are the same for all of them.

I just use a generic pulley holder, works for any pulley whether it’s crankshaft or not. Then no need for a special tool.
