I've searched and searched... Can't seem to find the actual name of the aluminum 'adapter' like mount for the oil filter on the 2RZ. Or maybe it's just called an oil filter mount or bracket (searched multiple variations of those descriptions) and they just don't exist besides the one that comes on the truck from the factory? :notsure::help:

Pics for reference... I've rendered mine unusable :anonymous:
(If anyone happens to have one they don't need, and you're willing to sell it, I'd be seriously interested :D)

Sunnuva! That's way more than I thought it'd be :annoyed:

After a second look, that one doesn't look the same as the 2RZ mount...?

The one @se7enine posted is the one that's on my 3RZ (I replaced the o-rings because they were leaking).

If the photo you posted is of yours, it almost looks like a 90 degree adapter. Do you have a 2RZ?

Yep, 2RZ. I honestly figured they'd share the same bracket\mount\whatever. I'm assuming that's not the case?

Any chance you could get side-by-side pics of a 2RZ and 3RZ bracket/filter installed on an engine? I'm curious how they compare. It looks like the 2RZ bracket puts the filter lower.

I'm specifically wondering if a 2RZ bracket could be swapped onto a 3RZ to make the filter less awful to change.

They are very different. The 2rz pedestal mounts with a big banjo bolt that is the same thread as an oil filter stud, and the 3rz one bolts on with 3 bolts and a weird shaped rubber o ring. We were going to try to use the 2rz pedestal on my 3rz and realized very quickly they are different

It’s almost like the original plan was to have the filter horizontal off the side of the block.

Interesting, I figured the mounting would be the same since they're both RZ engines. Thanks for the knowledge.

Hate to say the fastest way is same on 3rz/2rz.....pop off the passenger tire and its a breeze...
if you have a floor jack and impact at the ready.

OTherwise if that filter is on too tight......

Those brackets come in different numbers.....but think they are all same...2rz's

On 2rz you could actually bypass the bracket an just use a straight nipple like they've done in the past for 100yrs

with nipple,, the filter will seal against the block........just have to use shorter filter to clear the headers...
this is the way they did on 22re's.............when they switched sides on the exhaust on 2rz's....they had to drop the filter to clear the new headers

And will be an absolute mess when you pull that filter off with it being horizonal.....

but it could be done....if only temp until you stubble into that
