Hey guys, I just wondering what kind of life expectancy I should have for my 08 TRD OR auto transmission/engine with light use. I was told when the frame replacement happened, toyota swapped all fluids. That was like 90k. I'm sitting at just under 94k. I've seen a lot of 200k trucks so that makes me hopeful. I have minimal service records from the first owner, but judging by appearance he took good care of it.

The A750 is a good unit. The million mile tundra had the 4.7 v8 with the A750, it made it 750k before it lost reverse. He had it rebuilt and put another 250k on it.
You’ll see a few early failures with anything mass produced, but they are generally pretty strong.

The transmission and engine are pretty much bullet proof.

yup. The 5 speed auto is rather robust. Neighbor has a first gen tundra with the 4.7L and the same trans, 260k miles on it and has never touched the fluid... i told him when i moved in, ya know they recommend every 60k miles.

Well that's nice to know, over engineering I guess. At least you would think in a midsized truck like the Tacoma, it would last even longer.

Just make sure that you keep power flushing it. Don't be like my grandfather who never changed it, and I mean NEVER CHANGED IT. Because then you end up with burned fluid and damaged clutch discs... You don't want that.

Thankfully the owner before me had flushed it apparently, and I had it flushed and 184000. Runs perfect except for a few quirky things that I think are just the nature of the Beast.
