Don't think so. Shells will not interchange.

As far as I know the beds are identical except for the 19s where they deleted the driver side cubby. The bedsides are completely different but the actual bed should be the same.

    bed size, yes

but shells are not interchangeable because 2016+ has a much larger bed rail

Bed is different, it's 1" longer. No topper or canopy is interchangeable.

Let’s clear this up, OP are you talking about the actual bed as in the composite bed or the dimensions of the bedsides?

Straight from Toyota's product information documents.

    2015 Tacoma:
    Length 60.3" or 73.5"
    Depth 18.0"
Inside Bed Width: At Tailgate 53.4" At C-Channel 56.7" Between Wheel wells 41.5"

    2018 Tacoma:
    Length 60.5" or 73.7"
    Depth 19.1"
Inside Bed Width: At Tailgate 53.4" At C-Channel 56.7" Between Wheel wells 41.5"

The floor of the bed is the same. The tailgate panel is the same but the caps are different. The main differences are on the 3rd gen there is no front rail and all the sides are about 1" taller.

FWIW, the softopper off my 2nd gen fits just fine on my 3rd gen.

Softtopper rests on bed rails, it wont need to clear the edge like fiberglass

No doubt, just noting that "No topper or canopy is interchangeable." isn't entirely true.

but if the softtopper front forward edge sits into the wind instead of level with cab, that softtopper and frame will be under much more stress
than a softtopper that fits and was made for a 3rd gen. I'd not want to travel far or fast with an incorrect fitting softtopper sticking above cab.

Mine sits level with the cab, and I could tighten the straps to pull it down more if I wanted to. Lots of 80mph speed limits here, and it's just fine.

And if the OP is not putting on a cap/topper/canopy then none of this matters. Instead he’s cryptic with answers so have fun hope you get the info you’re looking for.

Before I put my '07 TRD up for sale, I decided to try the bed mat out in my '19 because it didn't come with one.

It fits perfectly in the new truck. Exact.
