20220515_192618.jpg New on here. Installed 3rd gen Tacoma mirrors on my 2nd gen 2009 Tacoma. They are powered, heated, and have turn signals. I also just posted a YouTube video about the install. I think they turned out great. Mirrors are from Amazon. Used the same bottom holes, just drilled them bigger, and had to drill a new top hole. Got a heat control power from Amazon, a factory heat switch from ebay, used after market sequential signals as well. Little update. Just had them painted to match. I think they look much better! 20220515_192615.jpg 20220515_192726.jpg

They look sweet, might just be the picture but it looks like they don't line up perfect on the bottom

No they don't line up perfect on the bottom. So I put some black silicone, to keep out any moisture

Kind of cool. If i had stock, i might concider doing it. Unfortunately I've got the towing mirrors from Trail ridge and they didn't come with the blinker light or heated mirror option or any of that period I wish they would have. But at the price I paid (free) I can't really complain ......

The same shit everyone else has.
You lost me at the black silicon.

Can you swap mirror bases to fit?

Apart from the sail plastic base part not lining up with the door at all, the mirror part looks pretty classy.

No the base is completely different. I tried by starting there. Would of been alot easier if it worked like that. The silicon line at the bottom is only about 2 inches long. Not really that noticeable honestly. It's just there to keep out any moisture. It's not a show truck. Just being used for everyday practical purposes

RTV silicone means no go for me.

I've almost never been happy when a mod has involved cutting into original wiring. Heat and turn signals in the mirror just don't seem worth it to me.

    Right on.
For me, it was worth it. It's just a small amount of silicon to keep any moisture out. You really can't notice it, unless you walk up very close and look. 2nd gens never had heated mirrors. I wanted them, so I worked hard, and did some customizing, and got them. It's not for car shows. This truck is for everyday practical use. They are gonna be very handy in the winter. Thanks for your input

Quick! Someone with a 3D printer model out a compatible sail fairing and base matches the G2 door but mounts the G3 mirror!

Jokes aside that looks killer. And for not a bad price either.
