Will this skid plate fit on my 2010 SR5 4x4? My MGM SR5 comes with a different looking skid plate.

It should come with everything you need to install.

What you have under your truck now is a splash guard. It isn't really a skid plate, rather just a thin gauge metal shield to keep muck from splashing up under the engine. Mine rusted out (despite POR-15) after about 6 years and I just replaced it.

The plate you are looking at isn't really much of a skid plate either. It is aluminum and reportedly folds pretty easily. I'd say it is more of an accent piece than true trail protection.

FWIW, I bought a Bullet Proof Fab plate that mounts similar to the plate you are looking for and gives protection to that area under the radiator.

It is a bit more expensive, but offers much greater protection.

In both cases, the skid plate mounts over the existing splash guard. The rear of the plate uses the two existing splash guard bolts. The front of the plate uses two new bolts that pass through the splash guard and are captured by existing nuts in the front cross bar.

Thanks for the information. How much heavier is the Bullett Proof Fab skid plate?

It should fit and be just fine if you don’t plan to take it off road

My truck didn't come with the OEM aluminum skid, but I assume they are pretty light. I think they are considered a dealer installed option.

The BPF plate is probably 25 lbs. I dropped it on my hand during the install. That sucked.

Another FYI- on the BPF plate, they include different length spacers drivers side versus passenger side. I assume the OEM is the same. Just be sure you don't swap them or you'll have an uneven gap.

I just looked it up. The BPF plate is 26 lbs.

They are offering 10% off plus throwing in the tow hook. I think that gets you to about $210, so about $50 more, but better protection.

If all you'd like is the look, then go OEM. It is light and it won't rust.

If you want some protection, go BPF.

@45calmike, that is a very good price on a new OEM skid plate. I think I paid $200 for mine new.

I currently have the same splash guard/skid plate OP has in the picture above and just picked up one of those white stock skid plates used w/o any hardware. Anyone know if they use the same bolts? Don’t want to take the guard/plate off only to find I can’t mount the replacement skid plate until I order new hardware..

So just one more time for full confirmation..

I’ve got the black rusted skid plate/splash guard pictured below already sitting on my 2011 taco and I picked up a white used 04548A1B-ECBA-43A7-8EA6-BC64008BA846.jpg 388E7857-6D5E-4909-A6D8-D9F2439B7636.jpg one to replace it which is also seen in the picture but it didn’t come with any hardware.
Is the hardware kit featured above the right one I need to install it correctly? And if so should I remove the existing splash guard and install the new skidplate or just install over the existing guard? Appreciate it guys

That just bolts over the existing splash cover. Just go to a hardware store to get the bolts and spacers. Bolt is M8x1.25 pitch and just measure for the needed length. You can also use a stack of washers for the spacers. Make sure to go with stainless. I wouldn't pay that amount for just hardware in your post.

    Looks good!!

Did you remove the existing splash cover? Or is it still under the skid plate?

I've got one coming in today.
