Anybody done anything about paint peeling on your hood? My roof did the same and I plastidipped it. Thought about doing the same for the hood but just wondering if anybody else has done something different.

Get it wrapped in vinyl to a very similar color, I’m sure a shop can do it.

I don’t think you will be happy if you go plasti dip on your hood

I took mine to a local body shop and had the roof, hood, and bumper cover painted. Looks great and very pleased with it.

My hood and roof are doing something similar. I just got some vinyl and will be applying it this week. Your truck seems to be black so it shouldn't be that hard to find some gloss black vinyl and apply it. Alternatively, you could take it to a shop and have them redo the paint and color match it or take it to a vinyl shop and have them apply vinyl.

My roof did the same thing a few years back. I sanded it down and used plasti dip but if I could do it over again I would've just saved up and taken it to a local paint shop.

I had some peeling on the front 4-5" of the hood on my 2007. No where near as bad as the OP's. My brother has a blue 06 Tundra that is starting to look pretty rough too.

I taped it off and used white Flex Seal paint on my white truck. It's been there over a year and I don't think it looks bad at all. I didn't try to match it so there is some contrast, and it has a rubbery textured feel to it.

Looks better than it did and provides some protection for the metal. I may have the whole truck painted in a few years. But for now I'm OK with it.

Had the same issue. Decided I wanted to paint the truck and at the same time upgraded to the '12-'15 front end.. Pricey upgrade, but looks like an entirely new truck.

This was some time ago. If I recall correctly, about $2500.. same color, did not paint engine bay or door jambs.

I'd like to know how the DIY vinyl goes for you. Let us know when you do it.

Ok so this was my first time doing a wrap so not perfect, has some minor imperfections up close but nothing that I don't mind and took a few hours by myself. Overall, very pleased with the way it turned out and definitely cost way less than it would to get the paint redone and if I ever want to fix the paint, I can just peel it up.

My Speedway Blue had the same problem. Took it to the body shop and had it painted plus had a roof rack installed at the same time. Cost of the paint job was $2400.00. Looks great. Well worth the money.

I like the scoop being matte black, it adds a little contrast and it was cheaper to just spray paint lol

Please clarify what all (i.e. hood, roof, etc.) they painted on your truck for $2400.
