Is it possible to swap an early 2nd gen to a later 2nd gen bumper? Also, does anyone know if this would allow me to use a bumper like the Stingray bumper [IMG]
    or slimline
    [IMG]
or are the mounts different underneath? If anyone has tried this or has any insight really would be helpful

There is someone on this forum who only swapped in the 2.5 bumper - kept the early 2nd gen grille, hood, and lights. He had to do some custom work on the top of the bumper to fit the older grille but it looked factory - anyone know who this was? I've been trying to find that thread and picture but haven't been successful.

ill keep looking but if there is someone who has done that, that's exactly what I'm looking for because I don't want to redo the whole front end... Thank you for mentioning it has been done

    swapping from 2nd gen pre-facelift to post-facelift:
-seems like a waste of time and a lot of money
some people prefer the looks of pre-facelift to post-facelift

    stealth bumpers
    -seems like a waste
-why get a stealth bumper when you can get a real full metal one with hoops that offers protection and the same recovery eyes + winch if you need it

part of the purpose of a front metal bumper is protection
a stealth bumper doesn't offer as much (if any)
and probably does not cost much less

The facelift is a lot of money for a cosmetic add which I cant justify for myself but if I was able to just do post-facelift bumper so I can add a stealth bumper i would be worth it. The main reason for the stealth bumper would be to house a winch while looking somewhat stock since I don't like the look of a full front metal bumper.

the only difference is if u go full metal bumper you better get 700lbs coils to support the weight. Stealth bumpers you can get away with 650lbs coils. I love the look of the stealth bumper but your right it’s very little armor protection. I have 620 eibach coils on billys & still think it’s not enough for a stingray :notsure:

I'd definitely be interested if I can figure out if it's possible to mount in on a early 2nd gen. Do you have a post for it? If not pm me photos and your price

It will fit. Price on the bumper will be $650 when I offer it up for sale. Relentless doesn’t make these anymore, hence they are pretty rare to find. I love it, but went full aluminum plate pumper from Pelfreybilt so it’s time to find it a new home. Perfect condition, zero off-road use. Constantly get compliments on this bumper.
