Can anyone help me out with some tips on how to remove the interior trim piece that houses the seat belt in the back seat of a double cab? Trying to track down a rattling noise and need to remove this piece to troubleshoot..

I took the bolt out that is behind the SRS airbag logo. Then also removed a screw and bolt that holds the storage box in.. that is where i became stuck and couldnt figure it out

Here is what im trying to remove

IIRC remove that bolt and screw then pull back the door seals on front and back door. You should have to remove the lower section first then access to a final bolt about midway up the B piller to remove the top piece and then obviously remove the seat belt to feed it back through.

Okay that makes sense. So I need to start with the lower section? and have any tips on directionally, which way to pull on the panels when removing them? im guessing pull out towards the center of the cab?

You will need to remove both the front and rear (kick/skid panels??) on the bottom of the door opening first. You will see the underlap for that bottom piece in the B pillar as it notches into them. Then remove the door seals just enough and you can see behind the plastic where the fasteners are. They are just snap in pieces on the bottom section. I like to use a small pry bar with tape on the end to help prevent scratching and trim removal tool as well. You will want to pull them all 90 degrees (straight out from the mounting face).

At the very top of that piece there is a round plastic panel clip that's different than all the other white ones. I believe it was either green or red (it was 9 years ago for me) so I think it's stronger material. I recall it being a total bitch to get out too. Pry tools would have helped dramatically I'm sure.

In the same boat currently.. Trying to track down a super annoying noise around the window switch panel on the drivers door

Pickup some Peel and Seal from Lowe’s so you can sounds deaden while you are in there. $17 for a 25 sq ft isn’t bad. I put it on the whole cab and front and back of all door panels. OR get a louder radio!
