Over the last couple of weekends we did a refresh on the Taco's interior. We did the full TransAmerica Trail this summer and it served to highlight some things we liked from our build and some things we wanted to change. We removed all the rear seats and built a custom platform. This is for our dog and fridge when on trips. We had upholstered it in fabric but decided to switch to a more durable carpeting. Also, we stripped it to metal and sound deadened the entire interior, upgraded the stereo, and replaced all the speakers. We replaced the factor seats with Corbeau Baja XRS. While in there I cleaned up and changed out some of the switchgear as well. Overall super happy with the changes. It is way more quiet, remarkably better sound for tunes, and these seats are amazing.

I like all of it, but I particularly like the overhead storage system.

    Nice:thumbsup:

Are the seats a bolt in option or did you have to do so custom fabrication? They look really nice.

Thanks, they've worked out really well. I'm using Planted Technology SB127 brackets, NRG MOMO/Sparco Universal Seat Base Sliders, and 1/2" Desert Does It Adjustable Rear Seat Jackers (only on the drivers side). I had to do a tiny bit of fab...basically a just little drilling and hole shaping (of the bracket to line up with the mount holes of the sliders).

thanks, that's the Hooke Road Tacoma Overhead MOLLE Panel that I added a Big Sky BSR-1 Gun Rack to. The BSR front tabs are through bolted to the roof. the bolt tops on the roof are under the rack that's up on top so aren't visible. It's hard to see in the photos but the shotgun is not even visible from outside the truck unless you press to the glass. It tucks up nicely. We've attached and bungeed a ton of stuff up there on trips.

How did you get the passenger side air bag seat sensors to play nice with the new seats?

You need a nice Santa Cruz gun lock. We generally use new ones on rigs, I'll see about grabbing some old ones.

I like the depth and ambience of mystery. What happens in the back seat with the platform? It's a nice link between the world outside the truck on either side, a woven relic of our ancestors still providing our feet and his paws (and tummy) a plush, inviting surface devoid of rocks and thorns.

I wonder if it'll ever wind up on the rug wash youtube channel... Guess I'll have to search from 1-4am on school or work nights.
