Looking for a cheap way to upgrade the OEM radio to Bluetooth to play Pandora, etc.

Tried the crap Chinese Ebay part

    • route that plugged into the cd changer port with no success as worked only one week. Good while it lasted but hesitant to get another.

Saw another one for $49 that plugs into aux in jack, but I have none coming off stock radio. https://www.carid.com/rockford-fosgate/bluetooth-audio-adapter-mpn-rfbtaux.html.

I know I can change the head unit, but not spending much on this truck at the moment....

    anyone find something that works?

    Thanks!

If an OEM CD player has an ERROR 1, would this affect the port on the back of the unit as well where a Bluetooth module would plug in?

I tried a similar adapter but the DISC button doesn’t do anything either, so I am not sure if the ERROR 1 breaks the port as well, or if the BT module is garbage.

Ended up just buying a new CD player on ebay for $50 (even though I probably didn't need it, but it was clean and had a better working display than mine). Also picked up a GTA bluetooth kit, works pretty well but sometimes is a PITA to connect when I get in my truck. Have to turn off/on bluetooth, then select the GTA cart from my settings. I have unlimited music now, $200 later :D

Had the GTA kit with my stock 2007 head unit for about a year after I bought the truck in 2015. It works well for an add-on to the stock head unit.
But, I went ahead and upgraded the head unit a little bit later because I wanted a rear camera option.
