Looked on the internet for something that could help shade my screen and found nothing that fit well. That’s when I remembered my son has a 3D printer. Works perfect!

Attached tiny squares of 3M sticky tape. My son was thinking of printing a bunch out and selling online, any thoughts on what he could charge for one each? He’s a college kid. The 3D printer has really come in handy over the years, the knobs on my clothes dryer all had a weak spot and after maybe 2 years they’d break.... Alas... print news ones. Maybe not as good looking but far superior in strength. $22 for a factory knob nope.

I don’t have a radio like this. Shade from sun and heat? Or glare?

Sucks but cool you to come up with this idea.

I’ve seen them on the net for different cars but none with the right measurements. It’s for shading the glare of the sun when using the backup camera mostly. You know, when the radio is not actually rebooting itself on a regular basis. The only thing I don’t like about this truck is the constant rebooting. I’m somewhat too lazy to go over to the dealer and get the software update.

What a great idea. Hope he has the time to make a lot of them because if priced right they should sell. Would not make them out of PLA but at least ABS. If he should decide not to do that please put the .stl file on Thingiverse.

My son will print out 5 after class this week in black. Anybody who wants one, let me know. He’s not looking to make a fortune, he loves doing it. And I just want to help out my fellow Tacoma peeps.

I've been looking for something like that. The first thing I noticed about my '14 Taco was the radio screen was pretty much worthless in full sun.

You know what would be really cool.....if it attaches to the radio bolts or mounts solid enough somewhere so you could mount some ram ball mounts or other accessories on the top lip!
