I have a scangauge so it’s easy to monitor my MPGs and change my drivinf style to get better MPGs, but before i got around 19-20mpg and now im getting around 16-17 with my 285/75r16 XLTs in E load at 55lbs a tire. I daily drive my truck and i have zero regrets with my decision

I daily mine. And I have a family. I don’t care that I get 13.5mpg pretty much 24/7. It’s worth it to me. And my wife has a nice highlander that gets like 21mpg so that’s nice. I chose this life & im ok with that. 285/75/16

Holy Jesus! I'm glad I don't live where you do. I couldn't imagine needing skids and bumpers to pick my child from school!

    Nice rig!

Man, I picked up a cordless (18v i think) impact wrench. I was skeptical at first, but that little bastard knocks out those lug nuts in no time!

My “inexpensive” Milwaukee drill/impact pair that I got on sale for like $160 are incredible. They both outperform much larger heavier duty tools. Gotta love that Milwaukee heft

I grabbed a bosch that was on sale at Lowe's. Amazed by what it can do!

I lost about 1-2 mpg depending on the situation.

Which rain guards/window deflectors (not sure the correct term) do you have?

I started with 265/70/17 BFG KO2's and got 58k miles out of them and decent mpg for a truck. Went up to 275/70/17 E rated KO2's, but after a couple of weeks I switched to 285/70/17 C rated KO2's and noted both an improvement in ride comfort and an increase ~1 mpg over the 275 E rated tires. The 285 C's are about 5 lbs lighter than the 275 E's. 285's look way better but of course you're gonna take a hit on MPG over 265's, but it's worth it to me. Go for it!
