As the title says, i'd like to go back to 275/70r17 as I feel it's one of the best size options for a ~1" lift. Issue is there's limited offerings in this size, especially when avoiding E load rating.

These are the two main options i'm seeing
    1) Wildpeak at4w - downside is they are HEAVY (58 lbs). Also questionable snow performance in some initial reviews (vs At3w). But basically the only tire with C rating in this size

    2) Grappler G3 - much lighter at 49lbs. Look cool. Initial reviews seem good. Downside is they are E rated

Question: given the G3 is lighter, do you guys think it will still ride as harsh a typical E rated tire? I've heard there can be large variation in how E rated tires ride, especially since it is light. Which option would you go with?

Any other good 275/70r17 I'm missing in C rating? Appreciate any help.

Thanks, I did come across the X-AT at one point. From what I could tell they run about ~55 lbs which is pretty close to the AT4W. If anyone has experience on them I'd definitely be curious to hear more, but was assuming since it's a minimal weight savings to the AT4W I'd just stick with the Falkens. The X-ATs seem like a solid do-everything tire, just don't seem as popular for some reason.

    - ICON UCAs, BP51/Kings, SCS wheels, 285s, Leer 100XR canopy. Greenlane aluminum winch bumper, Smittybilt X20 winch. Trying Falken AT3w now, Really like BF KO2s.
I’d just go 285, way more tires to chose from, can get C load tires around the 51lb weight. I have around a 1 inch lift on the front, 285s are no problem. If you off-road at some point your suspension will compress back to stock height. It’s pretty minimal to get the 285s to fit properly. As long as your offset for wheels is 0 or -10 with an 8 inch wide wheel.

Following as I'm considering downsizing from 285's. Been running Duratracs in load range D which are about perfect as far as being lighter weight and still being tough as an LT should be. Sucks they're now discontinued, and the new RT is now E range and gained about 5 lbs per tire.

As mentioned, not a lot of options in 275's in the lighter load ranges. Yoko X-AT's look good but don't seem to get a lot of press. Also not 3 peak rated, but tread pattern looks like it'd do pretty good in the snow. That's where I love the Duratracs, living in an area that sees snow and doing a lot of highway driving, mt. passes, etc.

Where do you live? I’m in the same boat in Colorado. I’ve been doing a ton of research and leaning towards the Falken AT4W in 265/70r17. Reason being I think that size runs a little bigger on the Falkens based on pictures I’ve seen. Some people even complain of rubbing but I have a ~1” lift so I’ll be fine.

If I pull the trigger I’ll post pictures.

Central OR, and travel/ hunt frequently in the south cascades & siskiyous.

Check out the Duratrac RT-LT In the 265's as well, if you're looking at that size.
