    Hey guys,

I'm about to lift and install new rims and rubber on our 2019 TRD OR. I'm kinda leaning toward 275/70/17 vs. the more popular 285...clearance, rubbing, protruding outside the wheel well, etc.

Can anybody post up a pic of a 275/70/17 mounted and on a Tacoma...preferably on a 8.5 inch wide wheel.

    Thanks!!

I'm also a noob with tire setup. I'm not looking for a lift kit at all. Would 275/70/17 be a great fit without rubbing? As long as the rims I'm getting is 17in right?

There is a couple guys whom have fit 275/70/17 with no lift. But they had to use wheel spacers to clear upper control arms. Check out the thread listed above.
The other thing to consider... Almost all 275/70/17 are E rated tires, very heavy. That's what's holding me back from running them, don't need or want an E rated tire.

Well, we're going to do a 2.5" lift, but the 275 offers benefit to me that I am leaning toward. I just can't believe how even the sales person is trying to put me on a 285!! In any case, got the wheels today!!

Yeah, that's kinda why I was thinking 275, because I thought a "C" rating would be less rotating mass. So, no "C: rating with the 275??!! Man, all these choices makes my head hurt!! Should have just bought a Rav4!! lol

None in a C rating that I know of. Rotating mass, plus stiff ass side wall, it will ride like a dump truck.....

Nice wheels... One of my favorite...

Shit! That kinda changes things!!! Apparently Kuhmo and F-Stone are the only oes making the "C" rating in a 275

I just checked them out. I no nothing on the Kuhmo. But I have had the F-Stones Destination A/T's on one truck awhile ago. They were actually a good tire, in all conditions and got 70,000 plus mile out of them. I would buy them again.

So, I with With ATIII's in 285/70/17's. With the amount of work and trimming I had to do, I think the 275's would have been much better, without losing any capability, or looks. I'm contemplating buying a new set in 275, but I got such a screaming deal on these ATIIs, that I may live with it until it's time to replace.
