It's for a 2011 Toyota Tacoma pre runner but I don't really want to lift it.I am trying to find out what the biggest mtn tires I can install with my 17" rims.

I saw an old old post where you said you wanted to try that size, did you ever end up doing that?

I think you mean 255/80/17 , I was between that and the 275:70/17 I ended up with

I wanted to put the 285s but I heard that those tires would not fit unless I used a leveling kit or lifted the Tacoma,so I am thinking that the next biggest mtn tire would be 275s?

My TRD Off Road came with 16 inch rims and I ended up putting 17 inch rims with Toyo AT 265/70/17 10 ply tires. Stock height truck with no lift. I had to remove the front mud flaps, and trim some plastic to stop the rubbing.
