265 vs 255 profile. I really want to go with the 255/75/17 for a 32" tire (vs the 31.6 of the 265/70/17). Maybe it's a mental block, but can you really tell the difference between a 265 and 255 when looking at the truck from the front/rear? We're only talking a difference of 10mm; 5mm per side. Have any of you guys regretted going to a 255 vs a 265? If so, why?
Thanks for any help you can offer.

Are you comparing the exact same model of tire? If you're cross shopping different models then I'd expect that to be as big, if not bigger, of a factor in terms of how skinny the tires look.

My 255/85R16 G003's look a LOT skinnier than my 265/75R16 A/T3W's did but the tires also look completely different, have a different amount of sidewall bulge...etc. My only regret is moving to an MT from an AT. I'm currently trying to figure out the best way to get back into an AT but there just aren't many options unless I want to go wide, heavy or smaller diameter.

I'd happily run 255's or 265's. I'd say I'm agnostic to that minor difference and that the more important factors are what models are available, what the aspect ratio is (and in turn overall diameter), how much they weigh...etc

Good points. Yep, I'm looking at the Duratracs. Are the MTs too loud? How's the mileage; are they wearing quickly? I'd like an MT, but there seems to be too many cons for a truck that is a daily driver and driven on roads 95% of the time.

The G003's are fairly quite compared to other options but still not nice and quiet like my AT's were. Can't say much about wear yet as it's not my daily so I'm not racking up miles quickly. I've got maybe 10-12k on them and wear has been fine so far. Overall, I just see zero benefit to having an MT in my situation. The only reason I have them in the first place is because tire options are very limited in 16's and I got a deal I couldn't pass up on these so figured it'd be a good learning experience. Which it has been. Nothing drastic, but in an ideal world, an AT is better for my situation. I'm currently trying to find narrow 17" wheels so I can run a skinny AT but so far the search has been futile.

I'm on my 2nd set of 255/75 duratacs. Zero complaints other than ot available in 6 ply, mainly for peace of mind. My truck is getting heavier so LT are probably in my future. That said I do a bit of off roading and have not issues with flats. They do great in winter weather also.

The 255's are visibly skinnier than the 265 but it doesn't look bad.

If I had my way I would have 2 sets of wheels. One with aggressive MT and another with Michelins or something similar. Maybe I'll win the lottery and just get a 2nd rig.

There are lots of high quality LT 6ply and SL tire choices in that size also

I’ve had 265/70/17s in the past and am on 255/75 now. Not much noticeable difference to my eyes. I think both look fine.

Here’s a decent straight on shot of the Toyo 255/75’s I’m running now if it helps. Stock Sport rims.
