Just got some Falken Wildpeak AT3W’s. P265/75/16, in SL load rating (standard Load). 4-ply.

my previous tires were Cooper Discoverers in LT265/75/16, in 112/109R load rating, 6-ply.

My question is this: what psi should I run the Falkens? Because I ran the coopers at 35psi, but they had thicker sidewalls. Right now I have the Falkens at 40psi, and they ride great, very comfortable. What do you think? 35? 40?

P.S. I have no lift, these are the biggest tires that’ll fit, and it’s close.

50 has got to be a troll post. 30-38 is the recommended factory fill

I really don't notice a difference in PSI with the ride difference. I'm running 28-30 right now on my 285s and they feel the same as 37psi. Maybe it's just me.

Only real way to know is to do the chalk test. I have the same Wildpeaks and have been too lazy to do the chalk test but the truck doesn't see any daily driving so it's only freeways to the trailhead then offroad after that. I've been running 35-40psi on the street and 18-20 offroad. So far, so good but I've only got about 8k miles on 'em.

 Bro. You’re gonna wear strips into the center of those things! 51psi is max pressure for the Falkens! LoL

50 seems high for daily driving without any load. But, he's probably on a heavier duty "LT" tire and if so they're rated to at least 80 psi. And perhaps he has a lot of added weight. Most LT tires are designed to handle quite high pressures which helps handle hauling heavy loads.

If you look at the Wildpeak specs you'll see that the SL version is rated to 51psi but the LT version is rated to 80psi.

265/75r16 KO2. Started out at 40 psi but I’m down to 35. Sometimes I’ll do 32. I get tired of waiting for my cheap ass compressor when I air back up after trails.

Vlair makes an excellent compressor for about a 100$. Inflates tires in no time. One of my favourite purchases for my truck.

If the manufacturer said "suck a dick then blow your tire up to 50psi," people would do it.

I’ve been looking at getting something like that. Haven’t pulled the trigger on it yet. Kinda want to go the ARB under the hood route but it’s pricey

Yeah… it’s definitely cleaner when it’s under the hood.

This little guy fits in the storage behind the rear seat, not too bad.
