Oh interesting, last I looked they were 4.5BS/0ET on the 16's, it looks like there are more options now! The KMCs are a pretty good looking wheel (but still $215/corner), or you could just go with FJ steelies in 17.

This topic may not be of interest but
Yesterday I had a new set of Michelin Defender LTX All Season 265/70R-18's installed on OE (P23mm offset) wheels. I went forward thanks to the information provided by the contributors to this thread. Thank you to all!

I put about 100 miles on my truck after the tires were installed. I'm very pleased. No trimming, the ride is great, handling feels tighter in curves and just as responsive (maybe a little more reactive to steering changes) and no rubbing detected. I have a driveway with a curb and a bit more than a moderate uphill sloop. I pulled in and backed in from both sides of the driveway which allows me to hit the curb and compress the suspension with the steering in various lock to lock positions. Still no rubbing.

It was dark last night so I wasn't interested in laying on the 29 degree driveway but I'm going to today. I'm interested in taking a look and I always spray the undercarriage of my Tacoma with 303 Protectant at least twice a season in the winter and summer. I have 90K miles and little to know rust and a relatively clean undercarriage.

One other thing I'll offer up. I installed an ~.5" spacer (I bought here on TW) under the intake manifold almost 2 years ago to increase the runner length of my 4.0L V6 intake. I've also ported and modified runner cross sectional area and length over the years of two race cars with excellent results. There are other factors involved so every engine can respond a bit differently but the 2nd Gen Tacoma responds well to even a change as small as .5 inch. I've gone from original 30.5, 17" wheels and tires to 31.5, 18" wheels and tires to now 32.5, 18" wheels and tires. To the naysayers out there, that ridiculous .5" spacer under the intake has made enough of a difference that my highly calibrated, all-be-it subjective, seat of the pants sensor detects little to no loss in low end torque or higher RPM go-juice and objectively measured gas mileage has either stayed the same, and in warmer weather, or depending on driving habits, actually improved. This fact does remain to be seen with the new 32.5" tires as I haven't had a nice warm day to measure it yet.

Tonneau cover, Black exhaust tip, blacked out badges and tailgate lettering. Black rhino(glamis)18x9 wheels with +12 offset. LT265/70/18 Toyo Opencountry ATIII. Metaltech 4x4 rock sliders Cali Raised lower grill light bar/mounts TRD Pro Skid, DD Fogs(pro), Ironman 4x4 FC pro lift.
7 days ago, I made the jump to LT265/70/18 as well. I am running 18x9+12 for a 5.5BS I believe. I have a 2019 with around a 2” lift. The tires are the Toyo Open Country AT3. With the lift and aftermarket UCAs I am clearing with no issues. I have close to the same clearance at the body mount or cab mount(whatever you know it by) as I did with my stock height and the former 265/65/18s. I ran that size for 6.5 years on my factory height 2007 and 1 year at factory height on my 2019.
I’m very happy with the tire size. MPG is still to be determined as I’ve been aired down and in 4hi the last 4 days. Got 8.8mpg this morning:(. But that isn’t the tires fault. Anyways. For those curious, it can be done.

Just thought I would check in and share a couple of points about my new 265/70-18 Michelins which I now have put a couple of thousand miles on. I am still very pleased. No rubbing under any driving experiences. I still have not had any warm weather gas or data to compare but I've filled up enough times with winter gas under frigid temperature to say that there is very little difference in gas mileage under what I would call normal "for me" driving conditions.

Traffic where I live and on all of the commuting routes I have to take is worse than terrible. For years my way to deal with the traffic was to suck it up when stuck in bumper to bumper traffic and when presented with the opportunity, try to outrun traffic whenever possible. I would never limit myself by posted speed limits. At some undetermined point I woke up and realized that you can't outrun traffic.

Today, I deal with traffic differently. I go 5 miles an hour slower than everyone else and let everyone pass me. I don't get anywhere fast but no more traffic related stress. In the process I have learned how to actually enjoy rather than survive driving conditions.

The bottom line is at speeds greater than 70 MPH gas mileage in a V6 Tacoma suck regardless of tire size or weather or temperature conditions. My definition of suck is 16 to 18 MPH (city and road miles combined) at best when trying to outrun traffic. I was also more than capable of producing much worse gas mileage. In warm weather, I can easily average 20 combined MPG per tank. These numbers have not changed with the new tires and this winter driving. I have no reason to think it will be any different this spring or summer.

Looks great. How far do the tires stick out? Do you know what your stock rim offset was?

I did a 3inch spacer lift tried a 275 65 18 on factory limited wheels but rubbed my uca. I just ordered 1.25 spacers to fix this. Am i going the right direction without having to change my wheels?

Surprising that it rubs the uca. I assume the stock tires are 265’s. If so, the 275’s are only 0.2” closer to the uca.

Stock is 265/60 guess the factory offset plus the lift has made it too close. I ordered some 1.25 spacer maybe itll fix the problem until i break down and buy a 0 offset rim i suppose.. or should i jus go 265/70 but thats getting close to a 33 might cause more problems.. ive been racking my brain on this for awhile now.

I would think that spacer will fix it. Let us know if it does.

Well i got my spacers in on my stock tires and i think it comes out far enough. So now im thinkin pullin the trigger on some 265/70 18.. i know it wont touch the uca fo sure with the same width. Now jus wondering if itll rub anything else.. because its a 32.6 basiclly a 33.. just think a 275 with the 1.25 spacer would poke out too far for my liking..

That looks good. Tomorrow I get a 3/2 lift with 265/70r18s on 18x9 rims with-13mm offset (equivalent to 1.7” spacers). I’ll post pics when done.

No rubbing when driving normally (even in full lock-both directions). The front right tire rubs momentarily if I pull (turning right) into my driveway hard and fast.

I’m pretty sure it’s the front fender well. I’m thinking of doing a viper cut to create some room. Again, it only happens when I pull into my driveway to fast. Never does it any other time
