I have a 2015 TRD off road double cab short bed. The current stock rims are 16 inch. My understanding is that either of these combinations will fit in the stock wheel wells with no modification.

using the tool here, they look like they are almost exactly the same size.

So what would compel me to go with the 17 in rim instead of the 16?

Well I went 17 because I loved the wheels so much and I could get BF Goodrich Ko2's in 265/70/17 in C Load.

IMO, I think there are more tire choices in 17s than 16s.

    *disclaimer - I have 16s. :anonymous:

OP it's really up to you and what wheels you like and or want. Typically for Off-Roading, the more sidewall the better so you'd be better off with the 16.

16" is a cheaper tire over time vs 17". Thats the only real difference besides the 17" is 31" and the 16" is 32" with a little more sidewall obvie.

I really like the look of 265/70r17's on Tacomas, to me they look a lot more proportional than the 265/75r16's. I was looking up both sizes about a month ago and the 265/75s were cheaper, but also had less options. If you like the stock wheels I'd go with the 265/75s, but personally if I was buying new wheels I'd jump up to 17's.

The overall height and width of the 2 sizes are identical. The 16's are generally cheaper.

What is this OG you speak of? The consequences will never be the same!

Thanks for the feed back - so it looks like 17 I get more options in Rims/tires, 16 will be cheaper in the long term? I am planning on new rims when I need new tires.
