    Hi Folks,

I'm currently in the market for a higher mileage Tacoma and came across an 06 sport with 250k miles. Has the auto trans and is 4x4. Is pretty much immaculate cosmetically with a clean carfax.

I should say that I have a company vehicle so this truck will mainly sit in the garage. I do have a 2500lb boat that I occasionally pull. I would jump on it in a heartbeat if it was under about 180k miles. Should I pass on it due to the mileage?

Lots of guys on here will say that Tacomas last forever..

but 250K is too high for me no matter the vehicle, then again how much are they asking?

Thanks. They're asking 11,8 but I probably wouldn't go more than 10,5 OTD.

About six months ago, I bought my wife a DD 4runner with the 3.4, 325k miles. Still going strong. That said, it's effectively a secondary vehicle for us, she drives 1.5 miles each way to work every day. We take my truck almost everywhere else. The point is, it depends. You may have a great truck for many more miles to come. You also may throw a rod on the way home from picking it up.

This one will rarely get driven. It is a lot of miles.

250k miles is low if you owned the truck from the very beginning and know its entire history.

250k miles is high if you're buying the truck with 250k miles since it's a crapshoot on how it was taken care of.

I'd like to but don't think I'll be able with my budget. Really can't go over about $12k. Why so?

I wouldnt think so.. but id still be very cautious now that if you buy one its not covered for frame replacement. Pretty sure you would have had to purchased it by last december for toyota to still cover replacement.

Normally i'd say "move along" but test drive it and have it inspected by a mechanic, if it checks out and frame has minimal rust go for it.
