    Hey all,

I ordered a set of RRW RR7-H wheels in 17" with -25 offset. I plan on wrapping them in either 295/70 or 285/75. I'm beginning to wonder if I selected an appropriate offset for fitment and styling preference.

I understand there will be some hammering and cutting required. I'm going to have Stellar Built in Sacramento take care of that so I'm not concerned about making them fit.

I'm mostly interested in seeing how much poke I'd get with this setup. I searched for about an hour both on Google and TW. I found some pics on customwheeloffset.com but it seemed like tacomas with similar offsets had different amounts of poke. None of them had spacers. So, does anyone have pics of their 1st Gen with -25 offset in a tire size similar to the one I'm looking at?

    Thanks!

How wide are the wheels? If it’s 8.5” wide, that is a 3.77” backspace.

I run 17x8.5 wheels and 285/75/17 with wheels spacers that bring the backspacing to roughly 3” backspacing.

They are 8.5" wide and you are correct. The backspacing is 3.77"

What offset are your wheels and how thick are your spacers?

Awesome rig btw. Super clean and I dig the scoop.

Edit: I guess the offset and spacer sizing doesn't matter. Disregard that question. I just realized the wheels I got would be .77" inboard compared to yours.

    Thanks.
The wheels have a -10mm offset, and 1.25” spacers.
I put the spacers on to accommodate the outboard shocks on the Total Chaos rear shock relocation.

Looks good, I don’t see any trimming done to the flare, any rubbing? Definitely a setup I’m considering going to 285/75r17, good to know on the 3” bs wheels

Even with 295/75r16 tires on 16x8 w/ 4” bs I rub the frame at lock and had to bash the firewall a bit more than just the pinch weld

I think I worked out this setup is at about 3.3x" backspace between the wheel/spacer combo

Not the best pic but it was handy

I have 16x8 with -38 offset on 285/75r16 no spacers. My tires stick just barely outside the fender flare. Old pics of when I first go my tire wheel combo.

Awesome reference Pic. Thank you. That's more inboard than I would have expected from a -38. I like the stance you got though.

Nice ride! I'm feeling better after seeing these pics. I think I picked the right offset for my preference.

No spacers needed with our wheels. Perfect poke with factory flares.

I do like it looks like you made the sizing pretty much the same through most of the wheel models. 6B22A4C8-988D-45A2-85BA-06C28A0F9332.jpgCurrent setup 16x8 4” bs w/ 295/75r16, pretty much the same for the past 7 years or so.

If I change it up I’ll likely go 285/75r17 so need 17” wheels, thus my question for @ChargedSHOTaco.

Most manufacturers make 17x8.5 or 17x9 with 4.5” plus backspacing which won’t work, be hitting upper control arms or calipers.

SCS has 17x8.5 in wide -10 offset/4.25” inch backspace (won’t work) or 17x9” wide 3.5” bs, which is likely what I’d need.

    Not sure, I just know it's a -38 offset.

Wheels should be coming on Thursday. I'll post pics. Unfortunately I still have to save for awhile longer before I can wrap them in rubber. In the meantime I'll drool over the wheels.
