I want to get new wheels for my SR but keep the small tire size for mpg and I have no plans for a lift. If I remember correctly though the SR steelies are 16x7. Anyone running this size on aftermarket 16x8 wheels? Specifically looking at the KMC Trails.

You can do it but 245 is not ideal on 8”. You’d be better off going to 265/70R16. Wider to fit the 8” while maintaining the same overall diameter.

Yes, factory runs 7” wide wheels for 245s and for 265s with 16’s. 7” is the minimum allowed with on many 265s, so 8” would work well as a middle width size.
