Does anybody have the stock tire size (245/75/16) in all terrains on their stock (non lifted) Tacoma?

I’m trying to see photos of if it will look goofy or not. The 245/75 already look pretty small, but I’ve been contemplating all these different Routes I can go with my truck and I’ve seemed to decide to stick with stock, but I would like a more aggressive tread, both for looks and for better performance on loose / unpaved roads.

I think 265/75/16 might make me lose power with my little 2.7, and also might rub with no lift.

I’m hoping you guys have some photos of stock tire size in all terrain so I can see how it looks.

    Thanks all!

I would agree with you about keeping the stock 245's on the 2.7l engine as far as trying to maintain what little power it has, theres some pics of 245's AT tires in the 2nd gen forum. personally having a 2.7l myself I wouldn't go 1 size bigger than the 245 and find the lightest weight AT available I think the KUMHO AT51 would be the lightest weight AT in the 245 size that I researched

the weight and tread width is what effect the 2.7l the most when it comes to performance, pushing more than the stock unsprung weight

You'll definitely notice a little bit of power loss, but nothing dramatic thanks to the 2.7's torquey nature... (even at only 2k RPM it's producing 95% of peak torque).
265/75/16's definitely will not rub at stock rim offsets.

I dont have a pic but I was running 245/75/16 on my 2.7.

It looked ok but once I installed my 2in lift I went with 265/70/16. Which is the stock size for the offroad/pro.

I didnt want to go to 265/75/16 as my power would decreased even more.

    How it sits now

Next set will be 265/75-16’s for sure, though I am undecided on the 4S again vs LT’s in C load. I just think the truck looks better on a slightly taller tire that fills the wheel well more. Pure aesthetics though, no mpg loss on these vs the stock Hankooks.

Go with 265-70-R16. Same size as OR. Tires will look beefier. Just watch the weight. I think the stock destination LE2 245s are about 36 lbs.

I have E rated 265/75/r16s and I don't think the power loss is that bad

    Going to get 285/75r16 next

LE2 s 31lbs. 245, every additional pound you add to that tire weight equals 10pds. more of unsprung weight the engine has to push

I wheeled with a guy who did great on this 245 size in Dynapros and I’ve seen one truck around town with 245/75/16 in K02.

It actually looks pretty killer. There is something about a small aggressive tire that exaggerates the look of the tread. The only sacrifice at all is ground clearance. You can’t really air down as you are already pretty low.

plus your still closely maintaining stock performance which is not that much in a 2.7l, once you go up in size and weight the engine starts lugging and then it really sucks to drive, not that great to start with IMO

It's really not that bad, my tires weigh 56 pounds a piece and the only trouble i get is on steep hills

I had 245/75/16 falkens for a while, I agree with your statements. I did recently switch to 265/75/16 Cooper at3's, honestly they look pretty similar width wise but the Cooper's are definitely taller and look more proportional.

Power loss with the bigger heavier (LT C-load) has been minimal, practically unnoticeable.

I've been running 45/75/16 Falkens and am very happy with them. I don't do any hardcore wheeling however.

Do you have a lift? Or just the tire upgrade?

Just the tire upgrade no lift. I may go to up to 265 when I replace them.
