There is a dedicated 14 pages thread in the tire subforum: 235/85/16 The Skinny. lots of 2nd gen.

It pops up once in a while there too: The SKINNY on skinny tires

I have been eyeing this size for a while myself because I do believe wide tire are overrated and I don't like stuff ¨just for look¨, but given I'm on streets most of the time I'm not totally sold on whether it's wide enough for the stability of our truck. It is still just 10mm narrower than stock SR/SR5. I know I'm overthinking stuff.

Thx, I know the threads, been a while since I reviewed them. I wanna run them as a Winter set in GY Duratracs same as my current 265/75/R16. Run skinnies in Winter so I have room between the front end towers and tire for using chains going out to my buddy's cabin.
    Thx again.

Sweet, that's how I thought it would look. I like it. Is there room for chains on the front tires. Specifically between the tire and the UCA tower. I think thats the right word? :notsure:

No, there isn't enough room for v-bar chains, maybe some light cables but it will be close. Funny you should ask. I was out checking a drill site they just opened the trail to with a D6 but still plenty of snow/slush/ice/crud on the trail. Got stuck to the axles on one short grade. Shovelled out some snow but couldn't go. First I've used crawl control and it took a couple of minutes but I was able to back down the hill and try again, then made it out with a bit of skinny pedal. I took my chains out of my gear before heading to this job. Oh well.
